If there are dream jobs, you've got to wonder there are nightmare ones too. Such is the case of ECBC!

First things first! ECBC does not provide a career opportunity. If ANY business calls you first and tells you that your resume looks good. Do yourself a favor and google that company and type the word "scam" behind it. If you go into the fake interview and believe everything the owner tells you; GET READY FOR A RUDE AWAKENING!

When you accept the first round interview you will be asked a series of bogus questions by the owner of this office, Gary Lolli. He explained that this is a management opportunity for multiple Fortune 500 clients, through direct marketing. When I started to ask him questions about benefits or compensation it fell on deaf ears and said to just show up for the second round interview. Which sounded really sketchy.

When I actually returned to the second interview. A bunch of young 20 something year olds in suits were chanting and playing games for two hours and giving each other high fives as the I could hear Gary through the door explaining who was going to get the interview... I was greeted by another boy for anonymity sake I'll just call him "Bob" who immediately told me that I was going to shadow him for the day and he was going to interview me. "Bob" soon walked me to his car and soon made a few less than great attempts to make small talk. He asked me if I knew what the difference between "indirect marketing and direct marketing" I explained my answer but he gave me the definition of "direct sales" instead of "direct marketing". I then asked him why I had to follow him in 100 degree weather just to ask about compensation and he abruptly told me he would explain everything at lunch. When we arrived in a residential area 45 minutes away from Pennsauken. Bob changed out of his suit and changed into a Verizon shirt and sneakers. He then started to knock on doors and have the door slammed on his face by dozens of people trying to sell an overrated and over priced cable service. During lunch time at a fast food restaurant: Bob asked me write down 8 great work habits in order to reach management. "Bob" broke down what I could be making if I were hired at ECBC and the growth opportunity is endless! and that at ECBC how quickly I wanted to become promoted was entirely up to me and... At this point red flags were going up in my mind and I asked him out of respect of me to just come clean and cut the bull. This time Bob broke down and confessed that he hated this job and that he was in the process of looking for another one but had to keep ECBC to leave no gaps for unemployment... This is what I found out about what your "job offer" at East Coast Business Concepts entails.

This is NOT a management job: It is a door to door sales job selling Verizon Fios in the disguise of a management training program
ECBC operates under the alias "Cydcor" which has numerous complaints over the internet and that this so called opportunity is a PYRAMID SCHEME because the more people you recruit, the more successful you are.
You drive your own car throughout all of New Jersey and work 80 hours a week for 6 days and there is NO gas reimbursement.
And you had to attend mandatory office nights every week in dingy bars.
There are NO SICK DAYS, NO BENEFITS and NO BASE PAY. So even if you get promoted you are still working on 100% commission and the same level!
You are to work through scorching summer heat and winter snow and on days you do not close sales, you lose money.
And worst of all Gary Lolli is a unethical individual who gives better territories and opportunities to interview and recruit other unsuspecting people for female employees who give him sexual favors!!

After the breakdown it made sense to me why this company was eager to hire... with no base pay it doesn't matter who he hires. If I am going to risk working for you and putting my experience on the line. Shouldn't you take a risk and invest in me?

After Bob interviewed me, I asked him to take me back as I was no longer interested. Gary wanted me to come in for yet another third interview. But I had already made my decision not to work for a person with no decency. As soon as I got home I searched "ECBC scam" on google and lo and behold I find several scam reports. I can only imagine how many people were duped by Gary with false hopes and Gary laughing all the way to the bank.

The moral of the story is: Do your research. Get rich quick schemes are all rigged or everyone else would be doing it now.
