I am another unfortunate Eilid Moving and Storage customer who was ripped off. We were quoted $1700 for delivery from Bethpage to Florida. The foreman came on the day of the move [8/10/01] and said that we were over the limit and would be charged extra. He could not give us the amount until the goods were on the truck. His outrageous price was $6900. He had us at his mercy, since I was driving my wife and son to Florida to care for my father who is ill with brain cancer. I gave them a $2000 credit card payment. Not only did we not get the delivery on the prescribed date [8/15/01] but we called 3 times after that to find out where our merchandise was. It turns out that they removed 85% of the good s and only delivered 15% to my parents' house. Why did they remove most of our possessions from one truck and put them in another one??? We still do not have our goods and it's now September 2nd. One excuse after another...the latest was their truck broke down in Virginia [that was 8/24/01]. We have made countless calls to Amy [she's the manager] and John [he's the driver] to no avail. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE YOUR MERCHANDISE.

#2Consumer Comment

Tue, June 11, 2002

The list of victims of this company seems endless. I am writing this comment to you in hopes that you have recovered your things. My family has up to this point lost all our possession to this company! Ronit Mandoza (Amy) and her husband Daniel have been arrested, in February, and charged with racketeering. The next court case is June 19th. The company is still "working out" the terms of releasing the loads they've hostaged. It has been implied by eilid's defense attorney that monies will be expected (paid to the Mandoza's) before some of the belongings are retrievable. Can you believe it! "It's very complicated." says the attorney. At any rate the D.A. of New York is handling it. If you have any questions you can direct them to that office 718 286 6000 ext. 6673. I hope everything worked out well for your family.
