Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

We have been using PNC Bank in our town, Township of Washington, NJ  for over 33 years and done millions of dollars of transactions over the course of years. Two weeks ago we were told that PNC Bank was closing four of our accounts, two business accounts and two personal accounts. We got four letters with no signature informing us that we were no longer wanted by the PNC bank and we had one month to leave. This is a nightmare because we have seven dozens of automatic payments with our businesses.

We were given a number to call because we wanted to find out what the problem was to straighten it out. I called the number and talk to a woman who asked, "Are you black?" In response to we feel you are denying services without cause. The PNC representitive claim that PNC can drop you at any time and they don't have to tell you why. If it causes problems it doesn't matter to PNC.

She stated, we as customers have the right to leave and they PNC have to right to deny service to anyone any time when they feel like it. We told them they were in violation of federal law by denying us services. She claimed out of ignorance, there are no federal regulations governing denial of services for banks.

Blatently not true. She agreed try to extend the date of our existing accounts for a month. While banks may do what they will with their charters with the states, PNC is an interstate bank subject to federal regulations which they are choosing to violate apparently with no stated reasons to numbers of other customs around the country causing havoc in peoples lives and businesses.
