Through the eMarket Research Group, I agreed to purchase three trial services from Blockbuster Video, the New York Times, and Discover Card in exchange for a Sony Playstation2 and marketing research thereof. I have registered for, and am currently receiving, all three services, though the eMarket Research Group has failed to recognize the final third (NY Times) on their own website.

They claim that it takes time for companies to contact them with the pertinant data, though the service person at the NY Times denies that they ever send information to eMarket Research. Moreover, eMarket Reserach has not responded to my e-mail and two phone calls to their so-called consumer help-line.

I have read the replies on the rip-off report's website from someone called "Jeff" from eMarket Research who implies in glib and ostensibly helpful phrases that there are numerous reasons why it may be difficult to converse with a living soul at this company, but none of these reasons apply in my case. You have my phone number, Jeff; why don't you call? The communication posted by e-Market research on this website suggests to me that they are too intelligent for this reticence to be written of as incompetence, and that they are too well-educated to be simple conartists. Though I hope I am wrong, I suspect something rather sinisterly elaborate is at play here. I would be happy to apologize and update my criticism if this matter is ever addressed. But I will not stop until I have contacted every private and governmental organization I know in order to call this company to the public's attention.

I received yesterday a check in the amount of $149.99 from eMarket research (actually from theuseful.com) in lieu of the Playstation2. I consider this sufficient compensation, though I regret that I had to complain the business bureau of Florida to expedite this compensation. For what it's worth, this company seems to have been willing to make things right in the end.
