EMC Mortgage Ripoff dishonest billing negitive credit reporting late charges insurance fraud etc... Irving Texas
purchased mobile home with UC lending in sept 98, non escrow loan, bought own insurance to keep cost down. live in windstorm II area, not cheap, had to have flood included in policy. next sept 99, uc tells me i dont have flood in policy (when i do) adds on 2,400 plus to loan to cover their investment. was working out problem when i was told in next letter that EMC (Evil Minions Corp) has bought my loan with about 80,000 others in texas. emc says same thing, no flood, tacks on their flood, raised my payments, and also tells me my loan is now -900.00 + in escrow(?)
its 2000 now, takes 3-6 months of phone calls and paperwork to straighten out problem, most of their calls were telling me im late on payments, since i refused to send extra money for something i aready had (flood insurance). my credit is ruined due to them reporting non payment of extra money.
2001, same thing, emc tells me i have no flood insurance, go though same events, finally get emc to correct everything.
2002, yet again, emc and me go though the no flood insurance thing, (always starts when i renew my insurance in sept) nearly lose my job over this now from them harrasing me at work with phone calls, and my having to leave work to take care of problem
had to threatn to come up to dallas in person and see pres of company before problem solved this time.
2003, yes, again same thing, i go though 3 months of this, when next letter i get says foreclosure of my home. enough i say to them, dont call me, call my lawyer, luckly, freind knows real estate lawyer who helps me out. i kept a good paper trail of all events from start of problem, so lucky for me.
after my lawyer sends last letter informing emc next action is law suit, presto, they fix problem, (they say they did, but still have -escrow on statement) credit fixed, whole 9 yards. whole process took 3+ months to resolve.
it's now summer 2004, i can't wait till sept 04, cause i know emc will do same thing yet again
