Enterprise Rent A Car is reporting a false claim against us when we returned the car in the same condition it was rented to us in.  The damage to the bumpers was already noted on Enterprise's copy when we rented the vehicle.  Not only that, we noticed after the air freshener wore off that there was dog hair in the back seat and the car smelled like wet dog.  My roommate who was the primary driver is extremely allergic and has ashma to boot.  He was having major trouble breathing and I came home to find him bent over wheezing and ran to the pharmacy to pick up different ashma medicine for him.  I was so scared that he could have died.  When he originally tried to take the car back and get a new one Kevin of Enterprise gave him a hard time and started screaming at him what did he do to his car.  Debbie of Progressive told Kevin that she had already marked all the marks down and that it was there in the first place.  Then, Kevni decides that the front bumper on the right side is a little bit out of place and starts screaming at him about that.  Kevin demanded $500 from my roommmate before he would offer him another car even though his health was in danger and he had nothing to prove that Chris did anything to the vehicle in question.  Chris wrote a letter to the corporate office.  Mike of Brookpark/Strongsville came out with a different car and apoligized up and down and took the other death trap back.  We thought it was a done deal and that Mike would handle things on his end.  Except we are still being harassed over this false claim.  I had to call my insurance company (Progressive) to report this and let them know we are not at fault.

I was with him when he rented the car.  I noticed that the front license plate was all bent out of shape.  I also noticed the deep scratches as did Debbie who was handling the paperwork.  I pointed that out to my roommate.  (He is on my insurance policy).  Chris, my roommate said with deep concern that it appeared that someone did not take care of the vehicle.  Normally, the only way a front license plate gets messed up like that is if someone hit something, scraped against something, or got the license plate stuck on something while backing up and pulled it out of shape and since it is connected to the bumper, it would have pulled on the bumper previous to us.  There were no other rental cars that morning and my roommate could not sit there and wait because he had other appointments he needed to get to.

On March 19, Enterprise sends my roommate black and white pictures of the car that told us nothing with a bill from the repair place along with additional fees demanding that we give them our insurance information.  Thi is their claim number 03627166.  We were not in an accident with this vehicle nor has anyone hit us.  The car was returned in the same condition that we got the vehicle in.  Enterprise will not own up to what they did not do prior to sending this vehicle to us to rent.  Now, they are trying to collect on my insurance when over the past fourteen years we've had a spotless record.  I am in the process of switching car insurance companies and I do not need this false blemish on my record.  And it is completely fraudulant.

Thank you for looking into this matter as I've been doing research on these types of vehicles and have found that we are not the only ones that have had issues with the bumpers.  They are low to the ground and it looks like other people have had issues with having problems if they hit a dip on the road or a pot hole as the bumper very easily can scrape the road while driving.  There appears to be a manufacturer's defect with this vehicle as the clips are not very strong.  I found multiple complaints about this very vehicle when researching.  Again, it appears this vehicle was already in a previous accident prior to us renting it.
