Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I made my reservation over the Intranet. The day before I was to get the car I called to have them pick me up as they advertise. I was told to call back the next day 30 minuter before I wanted to be picked up.

The next morning I called at 7:30 and asked for a 8:00 pickup. I was told it would be 9:00 before they could get me. I said okay and called them again at 9:30 as I had not been picked up. They said they would be right there. I live about 10 minuted form the location. They showed up at 10.

I got to the location and they said it would be about an hour before they would have the car I reserved, but I could take a pickup. I was running late so I took the pickup. That was a big mistake because it rode and bucked like a bronco.

I returned the pickup two days later as agreed.

I am government and they have a contract with Enterprise for fixed rates. I was charged an additional $15.00 service charge because I was government. I inquired about the charge and was told not to worry about it as I would be reinbursed by the government.

This experience was not as friendly as Enterprises advertises. They are rude, abrupt, assertive, etc. and they don't care if you come back or not.

This is just the last straw for my agency. I am the director and several of my staff have complained about their experiences with Enterprise. We have a choice when we rent a car and from now on it won't be Enterprise.

There is alot of uneducated assumptions here. 1st off, The GARS Fee is not a tax.  If you work for the govt or are in the miltary you may have been told at some point in your career not to pay for rental car insurance you dont need it.  This is true if your paying the GARS fee.  The US Govt has a program, called "U.S. Government Rental Car Program". Buy paying a GARS fee you can recieve the following benefits; Established ceiling rates, unlimited mileage9except for one way rentals), no advanced reservation needed, vehicle contract will be ready upon arrival, ifsize/class reserved is not available company will offer an upgraded vehicle at the same cost, No fee collision damage waiver (CDW)/loss damage waiver (LDW), No fee liability coverage, no underage drivers fee for divers between the ages of 18-25, no blackout periods, no mimimum rental period, all rental vehicles will be 2 years old and under 40000 mi, no cost for additional drivers.  If not be more assertive or go elsewhere.  Rental car insurance is not refundable in your travel claims however the GARS Fee is. So you will get you money back and it will protect you in the event of an accident.

I recently rented from enterprise was involved in an accident to no falt of my own. My insurance company said they would cover the damage but I had to pay the deductable. After pondering and paying my deductable I began to research. I've always been told I didnt need the rental car company insurance, but nobody told me why. Enterprise submitted their claim to my insurance company and I paid the $500 deductable to Enterprise. Then I found out what the GARS fee was. I contacted my insurance and they were elated, now I'm in the process of getting my $500 back from Enterprise. I was told Id be contacted with 10 days. I'll wait and see.

The federal government/military has a deal with every rental company I know of. They get a pretty decent rate. I forget the date now but all of a sudden the government instigated a new tax for government renters only called the GARS tax. And extra $5.00 a day. I feel safe to say it has to have been a year at least since the tax came into effect. All the agencies I deal with knew of the extra tax in advance. So I can safely assume that either you are not a director or you do not keep up to date on the practices of your own employers. The staff should have explained in a better way but as I look at your statement I am Government, I feel you have a healthy case of Better than Thou complex and probably removed the friendliness right out of the person by you own attitudde. And yes to your comment 1 person out of a million customers will not be noticed if they leave. Specially one who is more troubles than they are worth. Even if they messed up on thier pick up service and did not have the correct vehicle. They are at the mercy of renters keeping to thier scheduled contracts. So if the car held for you was suppose to be back say the night before but said client took the liberty to just keep the car the extra day. Well a sensible person would see the point made. Still the person at the counter is a person and deserves the common curtisy all people should recieve. A controlled person would have gotten much more in way of make up service. I serve between 30 -40 thousand customers a year, keeping an average of 1 million dollars a year in picked up reservations. I can not give stuff away but a polite person with a problem will make me want to go to extra lengths to work with them to find solutions and savings while someone talking down to me or worse will get the basic hers the facts theres the door because we can not work together when all you have in mind is Oh How Put Out I Am I Deserve To Be Given The Red Carpet for Your Errors. Errors that just above show that most often it is something out of our control.

This is an agreement between enterprise and the government and is compulsary for every government renter. What you experienced is not out of the ordinary but rather precisely what the government has agreed to.
