Enterprise Rent A Car ripoff fraudulent billing Ripoff Richmond British Columbia
I rented a vehicle for a week. My friend was put down as a secondary driver, because they said if he wasn't and got pulled over, the car would be treated like it was stolen. So needless to say he was put down. He returned the car and paid for the week rental. I called that day to insure it was returned and paid for, they told me yes. I find out 3 weeks later that he re-rented another vehicle and kept doing this for some weeks. He had paid for most of the time he had the vehicle but there was a balance of $600 that they charged to my mastercard and another $384 that has gone to the collection agency under my name. At seeing these charges it brought the whole thing to my attention. When speaking with enterprise they inform me that he had the same rights as I did cause he was on the contract.
Regardless whether the contract was in both our names or he was just down as a driver, they've allowed him to re-rent another vehicle using my credit information. I have fought with them and mastercard and nobody wants to credit back my charges or get the credit company off my back. They sent mastercard a copy of the contract, which wasn't even the originally one and didn't have my signuature anywhere on this document, but all I'm told is because I know him and he was on the contract originally it isn't fraud and he has the same rights as I did. I was told to file a police report and take them and my friend (who isn't anymore)to small claims court. This is just wrong. Nobody informed us at the time that he would have the same rights as me who the contract name was in. They never told me when I called after that first week that he re-rented another vehicle. I even explained I was making sure that he did return and pay for it as he was a fairly new friend and I was alittle aprehensive about the whole thing.
