Hello my name is Sheila. I'm a mother of three, a hard worker; I work at children's hospital in Philadelphia.

I have written everyone possible to try and save my house of 19 years.

My trouble started four years ago when I was in desperate need of windows for my home not knowing any better I took out a home equity loan. I never had a mortgage on my home because I paid $1 dollar for my home through the city and took every penny I had to fix it up.

The people who financed my windows were Equicredit. At the time I did not know they they were crooks. They sold my loan to Fairbanks who in turn said that I never paid my payments.

I have my receipts from Western Union. They tried to still try to foreclose on my home so I spoke with a co worker who told me to file bankruptcy and whatever they said I owe would be paid through the courts. So this I did.

I paid every penny that they said I owed plus some. To date I have paid them 26,000 dollars and they are still saying that I owed 27.000 dollars. They said the windows that I financed were thirty thousand dollars plus 14 percent interest.

I am at my wit end. I just received a act 91 stating that they are going to foreclose on my home. They are really crazy. I have finished my bankruptcy and have paid my payments on time, even paid them 4000 dollars from my income tax because they said that I owed it just to keep my house. But now they are saying again that I owe more money and I don't I can't afford a lawyer to fight them because I don't have the money to pay one.

I'm in desperate need of help to keep my home or a lawyer who will help me and not charge me a lot. I do have my receipts as I stated. I've been to different agency to try and get help but they are telling me to find another mortgage company to refinance and to get from under them because there are a lot of people who are having trouble with them.

I tried to get a mortgage company but my credit is not great. All I need is help to try and save my home. I'm a hard worker and will pay a lawyer bi-weekly if I have to. I need to know if there is any way you can help me or if there is someone you can refer me to.

I have written letter for months and have never gotten any response from anyone who is willing to help me and my family. How can people like this get away with things like this? If you go on the web site and put in equicredit and see all the people that this company is ripping off. It's a shame elderly people who have very little income are also complaining about the same thing of paying their payments and being told that they have never paid anything.

This company needs to be put out of business but people like myself don't have the access or the money to keep feeding them and still have them take our home. Anything you can do will be ever grateful. I will do whatever I have to if I can get some help.

Sincerely

Contact the Pennsylvania Housing finance Administration immediately. You can find the site if you search for it on the web. Make sure you have all of your documentation handy. Make sure you direct their attention to the proposed class settlement. If you have a payment history, bring it with you. If you don't request one immediately from Fairbanks under RESPA. Are you covered under the Class Action? Did you receive correspondence in the Curry action? Were you serviced by Fairbanks between January 1999 and November 2003? If so, and you have not received any information, go to the FTC website and call immediately for forms. It may, or may not assist you. Good luck!
