My account with Fairbanks is now carrying a $700.00 late payment fee due to thier poor record keeping, idiot customer service reps, lying and deciet. Four years ago when my husband and I were separating I fell one month behind on my mortgage. Thru a repayment program I signed on for I paid 1 full payment and 1/4 of a monthly payment each month for 4 months. At the end of four months I would have made up the missed payment. For four years now I have fought with them to move the 4 payments to the proper account to have it wipe out the missed payment and to this day I cannot make them understand. Its all there on their little computer screens but they just don't seem to get it.

I even had one supervisor say that she saw the mistake and would walk it to the proper authority to have it taken care of. AFter 2 months of leaving messages for her to call me when the late charges still added up I gave up on her also. Since then each month I have to explain why Im not paying the late charges.

I went to the attorney generals office, and they were not able to get anywhere with them either. They went back and forth with them and the final straw was when the lady from Equicredits legal department told the Attorney Generals office that there was nothing they could do to help me unless I had the first and last name of the reps I had been talking to. Anyone who calls Equicredit knows that they never give out thier last names. NEVER!

The next problem I have is with an escrow account that has had a balance of over $100 in it since the time of the repayment. I explain over and over that I do not need an escrow account because I pay my own insurance and taxes.....but again..the lights on but nobody is home ......they just dont seem to get it or they are very good at playing dumb.

Finally, I have dealt with them taking my payments and applying them to another persons account, have been called an idiot, a low life, and a b***h. They have threatened forclosure several times.

I have had to fax my insurance information to them at least 5 times in the last 2 years and have been charged for an extra insurance policy they say they had to get since they had no proof that I had the insurance.

If there is anything I can do to help make this company face up to the allegations and problems they have caused myself and others then count me in!!

I also got to know Fairbanks Capital after they purchsed our loan from Nationscredit. We seen right away that these people were cut throat, hard nosed, jerks. Repeatedly much as you we faxed them our insurance information only to be told they had no report of our insurance and billed us $700 for insurance we already had. When we transferred our loan to another company it took them one month to provide us with the payoff. I called repeatedly and asked for the payoff, please send it, only to get the same answer each time, we have no record of your request. It was only when I threatend with a lawyer they finally came through and took their sweet time then. If I can do anything to help you count me in. Companies like this should have their doors closed by the goverment. These people are worse than the little cash advance places they are trying to close down. Don't get suckered in by FAIRBANKS.
