Dear attorney General Horne;

I tried to get the three credit reports from "annualcreditreport.com" as I'm nearing retirement. No problems with Experian or Transunion but a major pain from Equifax. So much pain I've looked into the matter. THAY ARE A FRAUDULANT organization and need to be shut down and any officer jailed.

Take a moment to Google.com "Equifax and Fraud" These reports can make you sick. example:

Ripoff Report | Complaints Reviews Scams Lawsuits Frauds Reported

Company Directory | equifax

The company has been fined by the Federal Trade Commission on two occasions for violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act. In 2000, Equifax along with Experian and Trans Union were fined US$2.5 million for blocking and delaying phone calls from consumers trying to get information about their credit. In 2003, the FTC took Equifax to court for the same reason and settled its lawsuit with the company for a fine of US$250,000

My report:

I Used annualcreditreport.com to reach Equifax. Denied use of the Equifax web site due to four questions about bogus car and home loans.

Tried to submit a report to the Equifax "contact us" web site and was refused as the site is "no longer available."

Called the listed Equifax contact phone number 1-877-576-5734.

Spoke with a male rep; "Max", that explained he would put a 90 day hold on my account, and the other two credit agency's, and setup a "protection program".

I had to point blank ask if this was a sales pitch as "Max" made it all appear to be a free required service. Max did admit he was trying to sell me a "protection" about the false reports that kept me locked out of the "annualcreditreport.com".

I was refused a report of my credit history from Equifax in violation of the law, was refused to report to Equifax through their web channel, and on calling their published telephone was almost sold a hoax protection program to fix a false credit car and home report hoax Equifax is manufacturing. Their sales man "Max" was so false and sneaky about not informing me that his company is "selling" paid subscriptions, that I had to stop the conversation and request a blunt "yes or no" to what Equifax was proposing to do. They have no need or care to set out a "service" as they are the FRAUD itself.

I expect more fraud from Equifax over this - I'm waiting to see if they start to bill me for their "sevice" inspite of my very firm refusal to have anything to do with them or their services.

Test my report; Please ask one of your coworkers to try the annualcreditreport.com site for Equifax. I'm betting they won't get anywhere. Warn them NOT to call Equifax, as they will be subjected to a very sneaky and hidden sales effort to sign them up to a "protection subscription". The internet reports are full of people that have horror stories over trying to stop Equifax's "protection" service, and have basically quit credit cards and run to get out from under Equifax's Frauds.

Sincerely,
