My bank account was hit on 7/12//07 for a charge of $54.95, a check #9999 from Ever Private Card. I called my bank, reported this as an unauthorized transaction. My bank told me to first call the number listed on the check to see if I could get Ever Private to refund my money. I called the number 866-379-5984 only to get recording that any request for refund must be done online at contacteverprivate.com. I did this, only to get the line that I had agreed to let them make this debit. (Apparently, Ever Private got my info, unbeknowst to me, from a application for a loan with a company not affiliated with Ever Private.) After repeating twice that I wanted a refund, did not want the card, etc., I was finally given the following link for a refund request: secretcashcardservice.com/cgi-bin/refund.cgi. I filled out the form and on 7/16/07 was informed that my refund check had been mailed and I should get it by the 26th. Meanwhile, I had to close my checking account and open another one, as well as filed a fraud report at my bank. My bank is investigating and has refunded me the overdraft fee this illegal transaction caused. The kicker? On another website that lists consumer complaints, those who got refund checks claim that the checks they got had stop payments attached to them. One person who received the refund check called the bank the check was issued from and found this out. According to this individual, this is not the first time this had occurred. So let me toss this out to you all: If I receive a refund check that is not good, what would be my next step? I already complained to the Attorney General offices for Texas and California. The address I got for Ever Private Card is: 647 Camino de los Mares #108-217, San Clemente, CA 92673. They also apparently have, or continue to, go by the name Secret Cash Card. Hopefully, this will help you, but I would not let your bank get away with not compensating you for the amount Ever Private stole from you and any overdraft fees that came about from this transaction. The gentlemen I dealt with at my bank says he has seen several of these unauthorized transactions from Ever Private and Secret Cash Cards. Maybe flooding the appropriate authorities will finally shut them down for good. Good luck to you!
