Everglades Design Center Deceptive, Cheaters & Liars Never Win! Boca Raton, Florida
My experience at Everglades Design Center was awful! I would never recommend anyone to go there! I have lived in the Boca Raton area for more than 20 years and decided to remodel my kitchen and bathrooms. A friend and I were out to lunch and she wanted to stop at a place to look at a kitchen faucet. Years ago I had made purchases for such items at Elegant Hardware but my friend stopped at Everglades Design Center. The area was unappealing and the store very crowded with stuff and difficult to navigate.
I recognized a familiar face of a woman named Jane who had helped me over the years at Elegant Hardware. The face may have been the same but the person sure had changed. She was rude and pushy and when I mentioned Elegant Hardware, she told me that Elegant hardware was out of business and that Everglades Design was the only decorative hardware and plumbing showroom in Boca. Lie #1.
She continued to bad mouth Elegant hardware to such a degree that both my friend and I felt extremely uncomfortable. Jane then introduced us to a man named Gene who was the Manager. He proceeded to do the same bad-mouthing. I've learned that anyone that has to bad mouth their competition is usually inadequate themselves! And I later found out how true that was.
I asked Jane to price a kitchen sink, faucet and new hardware for the cabinetry. Thankfully I did not place the order that day!
The badmouthing left such a bad taste in my mouth that the next day I drove over to the location of Elegant Hardware just to see if they were really out of business! They have been on West Rogers Circle for over 20 years and lo and behold.....they were still there. The company is under new management but the former owner is still a salesperson there. The name has been changed to Millers Elegant Hardware and the showroom updated. From the minute I stepped in I was pleasantly greeted with a smile and genuine interest in why I stopped by. I mentioned that my friend had taken me to Everglades Design and never once was a foul word uttered in reply. They were knowledgeable and professional and it was a wonderful experience. Even my husband commented on how pleased he was.
What really upset me was I had Elegant reprice what Jane had quoted me on at Everglades Design and Everglades were a total rip-off! They also lied to me on the delivery time to entice me to place the order only to find out that the information they gave me wasn't remotely true. One of the Manufacturer Reps happened to be present at Millers Elegant Hardware and he gave me the real time lines!
Thankfully I placed my order with Millers Elegant Hardware and the transaction couldn't have be better! My friend on the other hand, placed her order with Jane at Everglades and is still getting the run-a-round. There has been lie after lie and my friend still does not have her order and it's been 7 weeks!
Everglades was the most unprofessional environment I have been to in a long time and thank god they are not the only game in town!
