Recently I had some very close friends who chose to use exede satellite internet because they lived in a rual area where standard broadband, or any other internet service was not available.  They contacted exede and were directed to a dealer named Jim from this face book page - www.facebook.com/Exede-Satellite-Internet-1794787057468811.  The website name was downtoearthmediainc.com.  Naturally the seller hastily took their money but never bothered to explain exede's unreliable speed which they say can be as high as 25mb/s but isnt available to all of their cutomers.  Their speed is in fact 12mb/s at max which means it is on average much slower.  Their internet speed also fluctuates and doesnt allow for streaming services to be used such as netflix or hulu, and when one can use those service with their internet its so buggy and pixelated its mostly unwatchable.  They also did explain the data caps which range from 10gb a month to 30gb, a month with the lower end caps costing $49.99 and the upper 2 plans cost $69.99 for the 18gb and 99.99 for the 30gb.  On top of that with their internet service being satellite it is vulnerable to bad weather and can go out or be interupted even if their is moderate to heavy cloud cover as well as rain, snow, or other bad weather.

In addition to not explaining those points, they also neglected to mention that once a person goes past their data limit their speed gets throttled back to between 1-5mb/s a second which wouldnt allow for streaming service or much of anything most net users use their internet for these days.  They hook people with their service because they prey on people who cannot get decent internet due to the rural areas they live in, and then they soak them for as much money as they can without giving a service those poor cutomers can actually rely on and enjoy.

I and a friend of mine posted about this to Jim at his facebook page that I referenced and he promptly deleted the posts rather than answer any questions.  Definitely not worth the money, the headache, or the lousy customer service.  Also be prepared to have any questions you ask them to go unanswered because they dont have any answers to give.
