F. Mendez Agent For BillBarnes.com Jewlery Stole small savings from single mother. Claimed to need it as down payment, but never delivered. Victoria Texas
Mr. Mendez required a down payment to order a piece of jewelry that was not in stock and was to be shipped from Greece. the wait time was to be 6 - 8 weeks. I ordered on April 19 2007 and the money was debited from my checking account on the 20th. After four months I called to inquire about the peice and was told that it had not been recieved yet. I gave it two more months. In October I was told the order had been cancelled and that my money could not be credited to my checking account because too much time had elapsed. I would have to wait for a check, "besides'', he said " refunds are issued from the time of cancellation so this is active starting October." I had all ready been waiting 6 months.
I called back again in December and was told that a new accounting department had taken over and he would resubmit it to be paid next week. Nothing.
I called back in January 2008 on the 24th and was told again that it must be an oversight and would be issued the week of 1/31/08. Nothing.
I sent him copies of UCC regulations stating that what he was doing was wrong and sent him copies of papers I would be filing with the courts if he didn't comply. Then I called him March 26th 2008 and was told that I would not be issued a check unless I told him how to address the copies of the papers I sent him. I told him to address the papers by giving me a refund for the money he stole from me and I won't need to hire an attorney and file. He refuses. In reality, I could never afford to hire an attorney.
It's only around one hundred and fifty dollars, but when that's all you've got, and are wondering how you are going to buy groceries, pay for heat or Christmans presents, it really hurts to be pushed aside and lied to so many times.
