Fairbanks aka Equicredit Corp outlandish deceptive ripoff fraud bogus business Jacksonville Florida
Fairbanks aka Equicredit Corp. dishonest, misapplication of payments, bogus escrow charges, insurance imposed where coverage already existed, late charges and attorney fees, summons, etc... fraudulent ripoff business mistreated and ripped off outlandish ripoff late fees political corruption Jacksonville & Salt Lake City Florida and Utah .....
I was in total shock that I wasn't the only one in this mess with Fairbanks! They have put us in foreclosure (we just got served a summons tonight!) because they took my mortgage payments and applied them to an escrow account they took it upon themselves to create (we don't have our taxes and insurance escrowed) and then refused to take further payments from me unless I paid the additional escrow and late charges caused by this mistake.
They claim they weren't notified of our new insurance (my agent notified them several times). Then they finally admitted they made an error, but still refused my payments because they still showed me a payment behind due to the misapplication of money to this escrow account they mistakenly created.
And of course during all this, I wasted countless hours of time on the phone, upsetting myself over this mess and getting sick over it.
Finally after months of getting nowhere, today I got a supervisor in the pre-foreclosure area on the phone. She said she understood how frustrated I was, but in order to get my loan out of foreclosure she needed me to pay the full amount (including the extra for the insurance I didn't owe), and wait 30-60 days until they resolved the problem and sent me a refund check!!!
I don't know about you, but we don't have hundreds of extra dollars to have sit around until they decided to send me a refund check! And to top it all off, they have the nerve to impose attorney fees on us!!!!! I am beyond words.
I sent overnight mail a letter documenting everyone I spoke to and the time I spent and the payments I made etc. today. At least I have documentation on my end, and proof someone signed for it. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Burea, and plan to call the Attorney General's office and call Legal Aid to try and retain a free attorney to help us.
I only hope and pray that we don't have this go as far as the story I read about having the home sold out from under them. I pray that all of your situations have positive resolutions.
