Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

just for the record, Family Center for Recovery used to be called Wellington Retreat, but changed its name to avoid the previous reports against the company. I just wanted to make people aware of that. Since going to fcfr I have had all other life options ruined. I literally have no where else to go in life other than slit wrists or homelessness or this program. I have many complaints against this program since I've been here.

for one thing, I've seen them make patients sleep outside as a punishment. One patient was brutally assaulted one night while being forced to sleep outside. a week after the patient was brutally assaulted, they kicked out two pregonant women out of the program at 3am with no where to go in a dangerous neighborhood. they make us sleep four patients to an apartment, and make us pay outrageous rent, and not giving us any rights as Renters. they can take the tv cord from you as a punishment, they also lock you out of your own apartment every day until 5pm to look for jobs. Even if you have a job, but have the day off they force you to do this. very few patients can actually afford to live in the program, most are in heavy debt.

They keep patients as disconnected from their families, and manipulate their families to keep them in their program for as long as possible, often using statistics to keep families in fear thinking that thier program is the only thing keeping them alive, an exact example quote from Dr. Robert Moran "19% of people with Bipolar disorder commit suicide, if you take your son home you are killing him".

The therapists there moniter all phone calls to family, and hang up the phone if you try to complain or explain what is going on in this program or how you are actually doing in this program, so that they have all control over what your family hears and what your family hears is very commonly not the truth about what is actually going on.

To sum up everything, this program can work to achieve sobriety, just like sending somebody to a marine boot camp can teach them discipline. your family member will go through unending hardships and challenges and punishments, and they may or may not come out better for it, but think heavily about sending a loved one to this program before you do. it can turn your loved one into a bitter cold human being who expiriences little joy in life, but hell, at least thier sober right?

ANY program is TOUGH!!!YOU have to ask yourself if its worth it. Now we ALL understand that its NOT normal for YOU. That doesnt make it bad or a ripoff. YOU have rules and structure. YOU have consequences for your actions. YOU need to address the behavours that got YOU there. Being sober sucks!!! But LIFE is about moderation and obvously YOU cannot moderate your usage. Instead of whining about how bad YOU have it, try and embrace the program and FINISH IT!!!!EVERY ADDICT is going to whine and cry but SOMEONE cared enough for YOU to get YOU help. Its ok, you can admit it, YOU would find flaws in ANY program YOU were put in. Just because its hard, doesnt make it a ripoff. Also YOU have no place to try and report negativly about OTHER peoples experiences. YOU are NOT THEM!!! What this means is YOU are only seeing one part of a issue and it makes what YOU have posted DEFAMATION!!!!Try and stay clear of defaming someone on the web. There IS a cost and people WILL sue you if they take offense at what YOU have willingly posted with ZERO proof of any wrongdoing on thier part.
