Reasons not to participate in Federal Buyers Guide, Department of Defense Buyers Guide, Industrial Buyers Guide, Defense Industry Buyers Guide, etc.:

It appears they intentionally make it difficult to investigate this company. These websites have so many links to each other that its like trying to untangle a birds nest. The navigation link on the Federal Buyers Guide site (and the Military Base Buyers Guide) for Advertising takes you to the DoD Buyers Guide with the URL at https://www.industrialbuyersguide.com/r20/index.cfm?mid=6769

The navigation link on the Industrial Buyers Guide site for Advertising takes you to the Federal Buyers Guide with the URL at http://www.govsupplier.com/

The publication images, even for their online guide, are not clickable, so you cant view most of the publications. The only one I could view and download is the Computer Technology: Data Storage Buyers Guide. Youll find it has a blank cover and 11 pages of very poor quality ads with a very odd mix of products.

Although it says the listings are free, if you go all the way through the application process, youll find a very confusing set of options wherein you do have to pay for the listing. The cost of an online listing is $595 for 6 months and $995 for one year. Their websites list everything from cosmetics to pest control.

Neither I nor anyone Ive asked has actually seen a printed directory from this company, though Ive been in this industry for more than twenty years and often receive solicitations from Federal Buyers Guide and its many affiliations.

There will be outliers, but most will not realize their expectations from deceptative companies like this. I am currently midway through their sales funnel/process. In others words got to the fee part and decided not to. Currently I still recieve their deceptive email designed to make some think you need to complete their process or your offical Goverment SAMs listing is in jepardy. See below a copy of the email I sent to spam folder today, that was from them. It is a great example ...

Subject: [Our business name was here]  - Capability Statement

URGENT NOTICE- IMMEDIATE ATTENTION IS REQUIRED

We need your capability statement on file for government access.

Government capability statements have been fast tracked to the top of the vetting process. Government Procurement now relies on ...

You can see how the above is designed to easily be misconstude as refering to your offical SAM account listing. (The one the Goverment procurement actualy uses.) By the way, the email no were states it is advertisement or any comerciail indicators. And if you add up all the other reports on them... 1+2 really does equal 3. But glad it worked out for at least one here.

Totally False Malicious Attack by Disgruntled Ex-Employee

I have been a client of Federal Buyers Guide for over 20 years.  I have both supplied them with graphics as well as purchased advertising from them.

I have never had any trouble whatsoever getting paid from Federal Buyers Guide.  The few times that I placed ads, everything was as stated and they fulfilled all their obligations.

It is unfortunate that an unstable former employee feels the need to spend his/her time making vicious and totally untrue complaints against this fine company that has been in business for over 25 years!

As far as the claim that there are no printed Buyers Guide.  That is an outrageous lie....come by the office anytime and see their entire wall of sample buyers guides from many different industries.

Read the complaint with a sack of salt!

You will never find a copy of their publication on any federal buyers desk. The Federal Government does not operate this way and they don't use publications like this.

The company tries to say thousands of people use the guides but it is not factual.

The company at one time was going to move everything to NYC, but did not want the CA employees to know. They kept hidden the fact they hired a person in NYC and would not let that person talk to anyone in CA least they find out they had a new office and were going to move.

Highly shady for a company
