Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
After receiving a phone call from first capitol consumers in June telling me I had applied for a credit card with them, although I did not recall doing so, I was informed that I had been approved for 2 credit cards, a master card with a credit limit of $4000 and a Visa with a credit limit of $3000. I was also told I would receive a free computer. On July 1, 2002 $219 was taken out of my checking account for "processing fees." I just received a packet from First Capitol Consumers today, July 29, 2002. After reading all the papers, I am understanding that I, like so many others have been scammed. The credit card is a stored master card, meaning that I have to put money on the card in order to use it, not what they told me. The computer is not free, you have to purchase an internet plan for four years @ $24.95/month, and there is no Visa card. I have placed several calls into First consumers and only reach an answering machine and never receive a return call. The phone number in which I have to call is long distance so I am incurring long distance charges everytime I call them. After receiving this packet I went on the internet and looked up the company and came across several complaint pages which is how I got this email address and why I am writing to you. I am a single mother of two children and I work very hard for my money and I am outraged that these people have taken advantage of me and have "stolen" my money. Denise Niverville, New York
