First Convenience Bank -A Division of National Bank Texas- is a company that preys upon their customers. This bank should be named "Miscommunication and Lies First, Coverups Later". This bank does not give you the full details about any accounts that it offers, and it costs you, the customer, big bucks.

I have had an account with FCB for 4 months now. I have been "given" complementary boxes of checks, complementary mastercards, and other complementary things that have been charged to my account. After I call the 800 number to let them know that the Item that was supposed to be free was actually charged to my account, they tell me, "Well mamn, you have to take that up with the person that told you that".

One incident happened after I had gotten fed up with this bank when they were switching to a new system that caused my ATM, and Mastercard Check card to become inactive, and I closed the account.

I waited four months and re-opened an account only to find that the old account, the one that had signed paper work for closing, was still open with a charged off balance for monthly activity fees. I wasn't told this until AFTER I had already opened a new account. They drafted the amount from the old account from the new account.

It took me almost 4 weeks to get this cleared up. Then they tell you after "raping" you by giving you false information that you can't even close the account for three months after you open it or "we will have to charge you $25.00. This bank needs to be shut down.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually run by underground crooks. DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS BANK. ASK AROUND!! IF YOU DO, YOU'LL BE SORRY! DON'T SAY THAT YOU WEREN'T WARNED.

In your response, you speak of ALL of these complaints. Well, 31 over a period of two years isn't very convincing. Out of hundreds of thousands of customers and over 100 years of banking, our reputation outshines your petty accusations. I have banked with many banks and I currently have accounts with other banks besides my FCB account. Guess what, when I do something stupid with any of them, I get charged! You can call people crooks because of your mistakes, but many years of great business outlasts 31 complaints. Sorry about your bad experience, but you are over the top with your rude comments. I just want to know if that got you anywhere or made you happy? Probably not..... Regards,

You are just proving the point of everyone that complains

I wonder if you realize that you are just proving the point of everyone that complained. You sound just like the idiots that answer the phones at the call center. Maybe you guys are reading a script. First Ripoff Bank of Texas continues to be a horrible bank. I don't think that all of us could be wrong and you be right. Your company continues to misinform customers and I honestly believe that you do it on purpose. It is probably written in the training manual. "Lie to them, make them rack up charges and say you have no idea what they are talking about". Then again, most crooks like you guys are smart enough to not put things like that on paper. Wonder why you guys place a penalty on people that try to close their account when they find out about how you guys are really thieves disguised as bankers? Maybe because your bank is a filthy, unmoral, uncaring, swindling operation posing as a bank, and they figure "Hey they found us out. Let's charge them $25.00 for wanting to leave. Maybe they will just stay for the three months and we will charge them 10.95 per month because they don't trust us to have direct deposit." If they know like we do they would pay the $25.00 and RUN! But don't worry, pretty soon people will tire of being raped by this bank and believe me when I say that I will be first in line when the class action suits start. Shoot, I may contact a lawyer myself. I can honestly say that I have NEVER and I do mean NEVER had such a distaste for any company like I do for this bank. I honestly feel raped by this bank and the worst part of it is that you guys are proud of robbing your customers and proudly stand by it. Bank laws need to change because of banks like this one. That's why it's important to vote and have things changed. It is on my to-do list!!!!

All of these attacks by you on your bank are clearly stated in the dislosures given to you when you open your account. If you didn't take the time to understand the way your account works, you have noone else to blame but yourself. This bank has been around for over 100 years and you think it's in business by cheating the customers? I think not. I've read most of the complaints on this website, and have come to the conclusion that most of you could have taken 5 minutes from your busy life and READ about what you just agreed to when you signed up. Then there would be no confusion about the items associated with the accounts. Therefore no silly complaints and hard feelings. I hope you learned a lesson with this and do your homework before you open your next bank account. Guess what? They all have generally the same fees and disclosures, and if you weigh them all out, you will find that FCB is not that bad, in fact one of the best. Good luck to you in the future, Reguards
