I'm over $29,000.00 dollars in debt due to to fraudelant and deceptive practices involving Florida Metropolitan University and Sallie Mae Finacial Services.
I was sought out by FMU to attend under false pretenses.I attended this unacredited college for (2) two years. I was failed in several classes just so I could repeat these classes on financial aid.I was in my last term of college and looking forward to recieving my A.S. degree in criminal justice. Due to my disability, I'am not eligable to perform any duties in this feild.
I was told by the administration from FMU that in order to continue my education on aid, I would need to take additional classes that I did not need to recieve my degree.I was almost ready to graduate and they told me that the classes that I had chosen to recieve my degree were not being offered at that time and I would need to pay for these classes at another time also, I would not be eligable to graduate with my class due to my poor grades. I could not understand this as I attended this school for (2) two years and did the work as assigned.
I now have filed a complaint with the Federal trades Commission and the Department of Justice. I have been forced to pursue legal action against these agencies as my personal information has been sold.I'am being contacted by third party enities as they have no legal right to collect on a debt that was aquired by fraudelant means.
This is also considered, exploitation of the disabled.

Upon doing research on this school, I have found that this has happened to other people who also attended this college. People have been mislead by the represenatives of this school and have fallen victim to debt because of this fraud. This school is unacredited and the credits that are earned are not transferable to any college nor are they ever recognized. The college has since changed thier name from Florida Metropolitan University to Everest College. This is a huge scam for profit for anyone who tries to further their education. I recommend for anyone who is trying to better their lives to do the necessary research on any school that offers financial aid. Do the research on the financial institution that is offering the loan. Do not make the same mistake I did along with hundereds of other innocent people. I do not consider myself as a victim but due to this injustice, I'am only (1) one of the victims.
