I have information in regards to Florida Technical College. I worked in admissions and Florida Tech is all about MONEY. We were encouraged to sign up any student as there is no testing for any student to get in. If we did not get enough students enrolled an admissions rep would be terminated no questions asked. We would work long hours, and learn deceptive practices to entice potential students to enroll in programs that were way overpriced. The turnover in the college is HUGE and they treat employees like crap.

If you want to spend close to $30,000 for a worthless degree that will take 18 months to achieve then go for it. You are better off going to a community college. I was making 60,000 a year in admissions and instructors were making 35,000 to 40,000 a year. FTC pays well if you bring in the students.

Do yourself a favor and go to a school with a better reputation, how many employers would really hire any of these graduates?

My paychecks were $60,000 a year working at the Orlando campus. We were encouraged to sign anyone and make numbers. That is bullshit about screening potential students. Faculty even have daily retention meetings and get in trouble if they have a lot of drops in their classes. Real colleges do not do any of these things mentioned. Take my advice, you are better off going to a community college and spending less and getting a better education.

I guess Mr. Ruggieri failed to mention that he drives a high end Mercedes that student tuition pays for! That is something to think about. Most at FTC in the higher positions make great money. Drive by the campus and see all the high end cars and private parking associated with them. That alone should be a huge deterrent for attending there. You get old equipment, out of date books, and turnover in faculty and admissions.

This man and Alex at the Deland location are marketing scam artrists. Trust me in God name trust me. There are pre made speeches told to every student. A placement center in Orlando told me without one to three years hands on experience we dont have a chance. This man hides behind a desk and is scared shitless to even have a face to face converrsation with me. After you all lose your homes and family you believe me then it will be too late.

I am the President of FTC.
We do have admissions people, and yes they are encouraged to help people get into school. And we don't feel a need to test them as we only accept people who have graduated from high school, or have attended college and gaduated from high school.
Admissions people are not enrolling everyone, as a matter of fact for every 100 people who inquire at FTC only 12-15 get into the school. That number has been in place for the  time we have operated the college. Doing the math, that means 85-87 people never see the inside of a classroom, becasue they don't get through the admissions process.
I am sorry someone got fired or whatever, but it is always becasue they could not do the job or finding the right 12-15 people out of the hundred, or not representing correctly, or not having customer service skills, or whatever it may have been.
The reality is people lose their jobs because of a multitude of reasons, most of them brought on by themselves, everyone knows someone who lost a job and had to blame someone else for it.
If you want to see for yourself, go to a campus and get interviewed. You need to convince the school you are ready to take on the challenges associated with going to school, not the other way around. If you make it and graduate, that's on you, if you cannot and drop out, that's on you too.
The only selling is you selling yourself that this time you can and will make it.
"Haters" are a terrible group, they hide behind what that couldn't do themselves and try to make all of lifes problems someone elses fault.
If you want a job with responsibility, be responsible yourself.
And no, whomever you were, you were not making 60,000 dollars, quit telling stories !
For those of you that want to see for yourself, call me directly 407 447 7300 and I will schedule you to see someone and you can decide for yourselves. This Rip Off thing is just that, a Rip Off.
If you went to FTC and did not make it, and you sat in a classroom with 25 other students who took the same program, from the same teachers, at the same time, and they did make it, then ask yourself why that happened to you, maybe it's time to look inside yourself.
If you graduated and cannot hold a job, ask yourself why other graduates are doing fine and you can't. Again look inside yourself.
I am willing to help anyone who is willing to help themself too.
And for the record, placement is fine too. Employers keep coming back for more graduates each and every year, they are picky though, so if you come to school, be the best student you can be. That's any school or college. Employers look for winners, that's how you keep a job and see some material growth.
Just my opinion people, look and decide for for yourself.

Fellow students and ex-employee's this is not any different than our goverment, if we stand by and do nothing it is going to get worse. FTC has to be stopped and we are the ones that need to gather people together and warn them. I have already checked if you walk on the side walk near the road with signs they can't do one thing to you. You cannot stop cars and detain anyone from entering but you can talk and express your opinions and this is what we need to do now, before more innocent people get scammed the same way we did. There are many issues here that this school is violating, with funds, jobs, and education being delivering not properly to the students by qualified teachers. Please contact me ASAP at 386-837-3081 so we can begin a plan to put a stop to this before next semester.

I am done with the college and do not wish to re-live the awful treatment I received. FTC is owned by Leeds Equity and has very deep pockets. Hard to compete against that. They are not a great school and yes they only care about money. I know the school director was making 125,000 a year, and the director of admissions was making close to 100,000. They tend to pay faculty lower but abuse them and work them to death. Some faculty are great and stay as they have no where else to teach.

Just get the word out that FTC is a money driven school with no morals, I was told to lie to potential students and mislead them into taking out huge loans. Karma is a b***h and will get them in the end.
