Florida Technical College Lazy, Incompetent, Scammers!!!!! Orlando, Florida
I am currently attending FTC ( Florida Technical College) it's a complete joke!
The classes are ridiculous, the staff is lazy and incompetent. When I first went there to see about classes everyone staff wise was eager to help and promptly returned phone calls & even answered your calls. Then once I signed the contract actually getting someone to respond to you was near impossible unless you actually drive to campus and go to their office. The only time you get a call from them is if something is wrong with your financial aid, otherwise you are on your own. I am in my 7th class now and am trying to transfer t another school and guess what? No traditional college or university takes their credits yay for me! So they have wasted thousands of dollars of my tuition money just to line their fat greedy pockets. They tell you that the IPAD 2 they give you is where you will access your books they charge you $750.00 for it guess how many books I have actually used on it ? 1 that's right 1 I have used paperback books that they issued me so what was the point of them wasting $750.00 on a IPAD if we aren't going to use it. Promised us they would have someone from Apple coming to give us some instruction on its features LOL all we got was a guy who helped us create the account and then we just had to teach ourselves. $750.00 for a machine that costs $399.99 through Apple.
I could write an entire book on this school and their BS sales techniques. They remind me of dirty used car salesman. Smiling faces and a truck load of promises. Their career services has to be the biggest joke ever. It consists of them giving you resume writing tips if you can get in to see them that is, and giving you a list of job search engines WOW what a service!!! It truly is a shame that this is what education has come to. Word of advice STAY AWAY!!! You will get nothing from this school but huge disappointments & huge loans to repay.

Again, if you have an issue you need to use a resource that can help you...........this isn't it.
As president, I can help if the issue is legitimite. If you want to just blow off steam - then this may be the better way to do. However, nothing really ever gets resolved.
Students who enroll in FTC meeet the admissions standards, they are published and our done without discrimination. Any student who has an issue that could prevent advancement, is counseled on such. People rreach a point where change is mandatory - and sometimes getting a better education and some specific skills is a good way to start over.
If students fail it's generally because they were not capable, or willing to complete their part of the deal.
Last year FTC graduated well over 1,000 graduates. These are the people you sat next to in class, the people in the hallway, the people who had the same teacher as you, the same books as you, the same lessons as you, the same everything as you, except maybe for one thing, they may have had more drive to succeed this time, and also may have taken the responsibility to finish their committment to themselves. They all spoke to the same admissions representative as you, met with the same financial aid advisors as you, met with the same career services respresentative as you, and they finished and graduated and have moved on.
The difference is personal determination and accepting responsibility for your own personal performance. The school is here to help, not adopt.

This school is a parasite in the so called "career college" education system. They enroll students who can not get into community colleges or state universities. They enroll people who don't have rides to school, have felony records that disqualify them from getting jobs for the courses they are taking...this is why they can't get jobs..they don't qualify! It's a shame what's happening at FTC...and it need to stop.

It's apparent you have never been to college before. If you are expecting someone to hand you a job, all of Florida would be working! No one can do that. It's unfortunate that you would think that. If you have noticed that looking for a job, you have to apply online for everything. So maybe you might have to do some work to help yourself. Don't whine or complain about what others are not doing for you and realize that your the one with the bad attitude,,,,,,,,, no wonder no one will hire you!
It takes REAL courage (not) to post an annonamous comment. Change yourself first, look in the mirror!!!!!!
