On July 1st 2016 while I was shopping at Foodtown of Kensington Brooklyn at 382 McDonald Ave. I lost my wallet. This occured at 3:02 PM.I went back to the store the next day and asked them if they would review the footage from the security cameras to see what they might reveal. They were uncooperative. I had my phone number, as well as my bank information, debit card, credit card and bank numbers. i also had my name in it. The wallet is a creamy brown color with an alligator like texture.

Foodtown refuses to take responsibility. The wallet had at least $70 in it. This is about negligence, and possibley identity theft. Which could have been prevented.Since Fooftown refuses to take responsibility this makes them liable.

I also asked for the address of the corporate headquarters. they wouldn't give that to me, claiming they didn't have it. If they have to receive shipments and have to have dealings with the parent company, invoices that sort of thing. They should have been able to provide an address.

They claimed the cameras weren't working. How can a store's surveillance system not be working? They have to have working cameras in order to prevent shoplifting.

I'm not accusing anyone of swiping my wallet, but there wasn't anyone after me when I was checking out, and the hand is quicker then the eye.

The only thing they would give me is a number that is out of service, (914) 667-6400.

I was told that the parent company wouldn't have footage from the camera either. Which doesn't make sense. Aren't most stores required to have security cameras insurance purposes? Fully working cameras?  Why wouldn't they have footage from the cameras if only to cover themselves?

All I want to know is what happened, to get to the bottem of this; hopefully get my wallet returned to me with everthing still inside.

If someone from the store did take it and everyone is covering up, I want them held responsible. They made no effort to announce throughout the store that my wallet was missing.

I was forced to change my bank information, and it was a nightmare, to put it mildly a headach and a half.

There is no customer service, you have to hope you run into someone who will assist you. They don't offer rainchecks, so if they're out of something  you're out of luck.
