ForeclosureFile ripoff, Not specific that 9.99 3 Day trial would result in a $79.99 non-refundable charge. Annapolis Maryland
I came upon this site www.foreclousurefile.com looking for bargains. What attracted me to the site was a $9.99 3 day trial, which I figured it, was worth finding out. 6 Days later I noticed my checking account was hit for $79.99. Apparently you had to cancel after the 3 days. I tried to cancel online and found I had to agree to no refunds. I emailed the company the second I noticed the charge stating I did not want to continue my membership and I was told tough I agreed to the terms which said I had to cancel or would be charged monthly and they would not refund my money. My account was charged on April 14th and I noticed it on the 16th.
In fear that I would be hit with more charges I had to cancel my debit card and had to take time off of work to get a replacement. I should have been more observant but I can't say I saw these terms before I signed up but I feel duped that these terms were snuck in. You would think for 79.99 a month they should send an email warning or something. Incidentally the site was not very good to begin with.
As duped as I feel I can chalk up the lost money to education. However, more than likely lower income people looking to buy a budget home and fix it up. Www.foreclosure.com preys on lower income people who $80 means the difference between eating for the week and not. Stay clear of this site.
