Complaint Review: Forrest E Mills JR - Front royal Virginia

On July 6 at Anthonys 
restaurant in Yorkshire, VA. I was told that Mr. Mills work with dry
wall .

And the work was and, look good, great, best.  I see Mr. Mills one in a while there at the
restaurant.

So I talk to Mr. Mills about the Job and we Go from the
Restaurant to My home 8584 Fairfax Street Manassas, VA. 20110. The work Scope
was laid out after Mr. Mills Said he would like to put a  inch. sheet of Dry-wall on top of the inch. There
of drywall. Mr. Mills Said too many seams and that look smother with him buying
10 room was 83X 5( I in my mind was thinking what a waste, but if he wanted
it to look Great. I went along with that.) I said cover the windows I have a
tool to trim the window out he said fine. Need of 5 to 6 sheets. Mr. Mills said
6 was needed any left over could be used in the next room. So 85.00 should
cover the supplys to start I said, and  get 5lbs 1 screws. I told him I had the mud
(drywall term for compound) Mr. Mills could not use that need light weight .
Mr. Mills said he need tools and a stool to reach ceiling. Im 59 have no
problems but, there again he may need something to work with. I told Mr. Mills
next week to start would be great he said I like to call off sick tomorrow and
get started. I told him I have something to do, Mr. Mills said he could have it
completed up till the top coat, I said ok and gave him my key to the home back
door. I showed him the electrical cord to use.

Mr. Mills Said that he need some fund up front due to many
times people did not pay him .I said ok would 200.00 be ok to start, He said
ok. Mr.  Mills Said He needs a helper and
I said I could do that but being so hot and medical problem I have, I said ok
just the hours you need him not all day and not 20.00 a hour, He said ok I gave
a 100.00 to that.

On July 7 I had come home to a trailer blocking my car in
middle of driveway lock up. I never gone in my house yet. I went to
Anthonys  Restaurant at the bar was
setting Mr. Mills all cleaned up just look like life was great. He did not come
up to me about 10 mins I walk up  to him.
Mr. Mills  helper could not get the day
off so he work by himself, He introduced his helper at the stool next to him. Mr.
Mills said that it was so hot that he could not work and only put two sheet up
and how one was broken in Three places and he can fix that. He be at the house
at 7am to start the mudding. I was not told of the trailer I said I been home
but did not go in. I had come here to tell you to move your trailer now/
tonight. Mr. Mills said ok.

I gone home call the police about trailer and the no tags,
Police Dispatcher Said privet property nothing they would do.

I had gone home to more problems one the Drywall that was inch.
Broken over the windows not to be repairable and he used a box of screws for drywall
to metal 1 inch. That inch into the wood. 
The bow after removing the one sheet was not one pound but less than
lb. The drywall was not inch but inch Mr. Mills did not buy 10 but  the same 8 so not to have the 3 but now 8
and he could not find the studs. I told Mr. Mills to cut everything out Doors
do to dust and my health problems As well as my wife breathing health problems.
He did not. He had no fan running when I came in but a radio plugged in. So
with some a/c working with fans to cool Mr. Mills was over heated  but  no
fan but radio was the most consider. Made up my mind to let him go with what I
see and what was told was not professional for me. I take Pictures of driveway
and the two sheet of drywall. The bottom sheet drywall  with the outlet was cut wrong by a inch.
Box is 3 inch high one screw that had more screws than the same sheet under,
the same one Mr. Mills said was to many screws.

 

 

 

July 8th Mr. Mills was finely called at 11 Am. By
me. Mr. Mills said he was at route 28 And Liberia Ave. and be right there, He
said he was called to work at 3 am and just got off. At 12 30 pm Mr. Mills
showed up. ( 8584 Fairfax Street is less than mile from Route 28 and Liberia
Ave.)

Mr. Mills was invited in I said you had no help from what
you voice message left on my machine. You also need to tell me the cost of the
material and, what monies It will take to cover the total labor as you see it.
Mr. Mills said just let me get started, I said I need to finalizes the cost of
the job now you see how the work is, what the labor cost?

Mr. Mills Said 500.00 labor (thats 300.00 more that if
nothing was done, this has the drywall up.)

Than I ask what the cost of just that room that 5X8? Mr.
Mills  not the 12 x15 area. Mr. Mills
said 200.00. I said where the receipt for the inch drywall in which was to be
inch? Mr. Mills said they Homedepo had no 10. (I know you get that size from
the wholesales stores) cost 6.50 each for 3 sheets. Total of 19.50 for that 4X
8 drywall which was on the wall all ready. I said you were to buy 6 Sheets, so
there would be no seems.  Mr. Mills had
no answer so I gone on with the cost of the (Light) Drywall (Mud). Mr. Mills
said 16.00. ( I said ok 19.50 plus 16.00 is 35.50 )Ok that leaves the
screws   how mush for the 1 LB  Screws ? Mr. Mills Said 9.50. I than said
they were for hanging drywall to medal and there only Lb. there, You were to
buy 5 LBs and I only buy 3.00 at most for a pound. So I do see I paid cash so
where, the change. Mr. Mills Said he put it in the bank. I Said that drywall
will have to be taken off you put more screws in than before thats why you
were  and wanted to add the inch, which
you did not. So I gave 85.00 for the material you spent 40.00 tax 2.50 that
40.50 back and I need the receipt, the Container of Screws is more than 3 years
old. You thinking light drywall is less dust, I need to return that 5 gallons.
I have 15 gallons here of the type I want. You need help so I gave 100.00 I
need back and your work for 2 sheet is not worth 100.00 each , so you need to
return 75.00 of the advance monies today.

Mr. Mills Said Just let me finish and call it even. I said
no I had enough. Mr. Mills said it will take 3 or 4 days to get to out of the
bank. I said I gave you cash you said you gave them cash, I want cash today.
Mr. mills said ok we gathered, Mr. Mills Hand tools I said I told you I had the
tools here, Mr. Mills said he wanted his own, I said you said yours in storage
I did not know it was in a pull behind trailer. 
I ask where do you keep it He said Manassas. It cost a lot for storage
he has a storage in the area what he was paying good money also and was full.

When all was completed he wants me to move my car so he
could get the trailer Mr. Mills was trespassing in the first place. I said go
to bank get my cash of 175.00 and the receipt so I can see the difference of
the 85.00. Mr. Mills Said if I ever leave property He was going to hurt me, Mr.
Mills (I have 6,000.00 in tools you well be responsible for if anything
missing, I have my locks on they better be there when I get back. I said get
your tools the trailer stays till you return the difference in funds.

I seen Mr. Mills July 9th early am go by my home
so  I call Him no answer.

I call the police officer Tim Macoske 703-257-8035 team
leader Weems school district Left a voice mail his work hours very, Ask he stop
by and see about the trailer, what I can do. Dispatcher Said privet property.

 July  10th late Mr. Mills Driving by my
home. Nabors notice this and make comment.

July 11, 12, 13 Mr. Mills before 7am and after 3pm every day
goes by the house I call sometime he would answer, The same conversation He was
waiting for the fund.

 The Police was at my
door July 14 Thursday afternoon, I was thinking the call I made Sunday, I step
out of my house and the officer question the trailer I said I have called the
police and the said privet property, nothing they can do I see Mr. Mills and
Mr. Mills see me, He get upset and stating to go off that I blocking trailer
in. The officer try to intimidate me to let him have the trailer, He informs
Mr. Mills to go to the Magistrate and have me lock up.  Mr. Mills said he does not know my name (he
calls me Harlem). They leave my property and Mr. Mills drives off, I find out
the officer there for a dog.

 Friday I call to see
if there a complaint and not in my name. I see Mr. Mills again Call him on his
phone no answer.  Later  I called and a female said do not ever call
this number again I said I was calling Mr. Mills She hung up.

Mr. Mills leave messages he now has the funds to pay me. I
take medicine and did not here the phone I called back no answer. This goes on
several times. July  16th late Mr. Mills
said on my voice mail home phone He was in the country on his farm picking
vegetables and could not pick up the phone did not work in that are well and
he be late Saturday  to pay or Sunday
call him.

I call him July 17 Sunday.  I ask Mr. Mills come over, When Mr. Mills said
he had the fund he did not mean that,  Mr.
Mills wanted to have me move my car out of his way.  They and 
I will get you and do not leave the property goes on. Mr. Mills Said do
not do this Harlan. That was in after-noon.

On Monday July 18th Monday I call the Magistrate
no answer call clerk of the court I get another number to call of the court.
The complaint was not in my name. Mr. Mills still driving by this time 4pm than
at 714 pm I get a call from Miss Knicely M 540-837-2233 we are going to get
more than Just the 175.00 from you. I gone with Forest to the magistrate and
filled a complaint. I going to see to that you pay us  big bucks. Than Miss Knicely Hangs phone up.

Tuesday I had several 
thing I had to get completed when I got home trailer gone that at 4 or
so. 510 Mr. Mills back I call the police about the stocking,  I go to my front yard, I cannot see where Mr.
Mills  has gone. A red car pulls up
nothing said and She (later know as Miss Knicely) lic. plate Bonnie K. Start
talking what a yard how she would not live here.

I call the police about the second person. Dispatcher the
response is are they in your yard? and I say no dispatcher said they doing
nothing wrong.

Officer aaaa is first to arrive.  I talking stocking of Mr. Mills and after I
find she was the one on the phone I say the same about her, Stocking. Another
officer did not get his name said it ok there on the street, I ask for the
supervisor. That when the trailer comes up I said I left here this morning and
when I got back it was gone.
