I had a bad experience trying to rent "Designer Decorated Loft Apartment with roof-top" in Chelsea through Francesco Pansardi who is director for Flag Travel Corporation. He was initially great and got back to me promptly, but 2 days before leaving for NY I sent him our arrival details only to be told the apartment was not available due to building not meeting fire regulations. fair enough. However, I eventually had to get my $500 deposit back by going through my bank as mediators.

So I would not recommend dealing with him.

We tried to rent the same apartment in August last year. What do you know - five days before arrival I wrote to confirm. I didn't hear anything for three days, and then two days before our arrival he wrote me that I couldn't have the apartment after all because the owner had an emergency of some sort. This was the first time in 20 e-mails that I found out he wasn't the owner.

He then offered an alternative apartment, an two days before you don't have a lot of choice. It was not a disaster, but not as nice as the one we wanted.

I wondered if it was a trick with the attractive Chelsea apartment - now I know.

He's a crook.

I wish I had read this message before booking. I am having the exact same problem with Francesco pansardi. I booked probably the same apartment in Chelsea in jan this year for the first week in july, only to be told three days before we were due to leave that it was no longer available. He did find an alternative apartment but he has still not returned our deposit so it looks like i am in for a long battle to get that Back. Be warned don't deal with him.

We had similar issues with Francesco Pansardi and his colleague Brian Sandorini. 24 hours before we flew from Paris to New York, we were advised that the designer apartment we booked in Chelsea was not available as the owner had 'broken her leg' and couldn't leave. They offered two other apartments - meaning we had to move mid holiday - and told us it wouldn't cost us any more. The apartments were inferior to the one we had booked, and it took quite a few emails to get this sorted out. I WOULD NEVER DEAL WTIH FLAG RENTAL/TRAVEL AGAIN AS WE HAD DELAYED EMAILS IN CONFIRMING THE BOOKING, CONFUSED INSTRUCTIONS, AND THEN THE LAST MINUTE CANCELLATION. WE ALSO HAD TO WAIT FOR THEM TO ADVISE THE COST OF ONE APARTM

We had delays in emails, and then booked a 'designer apartment' which also was cancelled 24 hours before we flew from Paris to New York. they offered other options and tried to charge us at the higher rate for apartments that were not at the same standard. Our experience generally has been good in NYC, but with this organisation it really ruined our time in NYC, and we have been there many times and always had a great time. I would avoid anything to do with them.
