These people run deceptive advertisements such as "RED BULL, MONSTER & ROCKSTAR, High Energy, desire to work hard. We need you immediately. Full training provided. 1600/mo+ 1000$ sign on bonus"

This makes it look like you're going to be advertising for these companies. When you get there for the interview, they want you to sell Kirby's. I called Red Bull, Monster and RockStar. Hopefully they will go after these guys for copyright infringement or something.

The first time that I responded to these types of ads, the ad read "Love loud rock music? 650 needed $460-&900/week call now" I asked them what was the posistion that I was applying. They responded really vaguely and said that It would be better to just come in for an interview and see where I best fit into the company.

Kirby sales have nothing to do with Red Bull, Monster, RockStar or loud rock music.

I have heard that there is a class action lawsuit that a Birmingham, Alabama attorney is trying to get together. If anyone knows about this please let me know on here. I will be happy to give any and all information that I have. I've called the Attorney General's office, the Secretary of state, those three companies, Private attorney's and the county prosecutors office. These people need to stop.

Kirby: a bad company with bad practices

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Wed, July 22, 2009

I was fooled by one of these ads over a year ago. They were quite vague about what the job required & I went to the office. I got hired on the spot. I went to the meeting & there was loud music playing at 8AM and it was quite ridiculous. There were also several people running around, amped up on Red Bull & God knows what else. One of the "managers" was an ex-con. Some have even been accused of stealing from people's homes. Several others who were required did not even have drivers licenses. Some "managers" even allowed employees to drink alcoholic beverages on the vans. They also leave you by yourself or with a partner in an (often time) unfamiliar neighborhood & then you're left to wait around for the van to come back and get you. It is illegal to do sales like Kirby without a business license in each city you are in. So you must have on for Trussville, Clay, Birmingham, Vestavia, etc. The cops had been called many times in many areas. We were once ticketed & had to go to court for pedaling without a license. (The company does not inform you that you need them. They are $200 each, I think.) You do not fill out a W2 or any other tax papers. You are responsible for keeping up receipts (such as food, gas, etc.) that you acquire while at work in order to file taxes. Work hours are about 10-13 hours a day! Pretty much, if you do not force your way into someone's home, you do not get paid! The pay is not worth it! You pretty much pay to work there...you make just about enough to afford fast food, drinks, & gas money. I'm not even halfway done with what's wrong with this company & their practices... As an ex-employee I recommend that no one let a Kirby sales person into your home! Do not let them talk you into watching a demo. Send them on their way & don't think twice about it. A co-worker once got a gun pulled on him by some guy out in the country. You never know whose home you are stepping in to! It is so unsafe! It is easier to get financed for a car than it is to get financed for a Kirby! They are great vacuums, but not worth the hassle or money! They go for $2000 but are only worth $500. That's why they starts at $2000 and go down (no less than $700) until you decide on a price; they want to get as much out of you as possible.
