Freedom Mortgage has always had the worst customer service I have ever experienced, but they went to a new level whey I was trying to refinance. We requested a simple payoff and proof of mortgage (because they did not report my mortgage for over a year) on the 25th of February. My new mortgage company asked me to get involved to get the 2 simple documents on Monday, March 7th and let them know that I was going to lose my rate lock if we do not have the 2 documents by Tuesday Morning.
I called 3 times and was told that it would be received Tuesday. When it did not come Tuesday Morning, I called and they said it would be by 5:00, I begged for it to be expedited and they said they would. I followed up 5 times on Tuesday and by 5 o'clock they sent the payoff, no proof of mortgage, which they should have been reporting on my bureau anyway. So, I lost my lock and it cost me $2000 of money that I could be applying to my child with autism expenses, which are substantial.
They did not get us the document until late Wednesday after numerous calls. I will never deal with this company again and I will tell every person that I know that it was the worst situation I have ever been through and I am 51 years old, that is saying something. I am going to see if I can take them to small claims court to get the $2000 back that they cost me due to simply not caring.
