Freedom Nissan rip off tactics fraudulent business To my absolute disgust and fury after looking at the bill, the cost for the recommended check up was $541.63. Burlington Vermont
I called to set up an appointment for service on my 1998 Nissan Pathfinder. I told the service person that I needed an oil, lube, and filter; I needrf to have my rear windshield wiper looked at for proper operation; I needed an inspection by the first of October; and I needed my driver's side headlight looked at (it had stopper working and had water in the base).
He asked me how many miles the vehicle had and I responded with 60,000 miles. He then asks if I want to do a 60,000 mile service. I ask what it entails and he indicates oil, lube, filter, tire rotation, filter replacement. I told him the only thing I needed at this time is the oil , lube, and filter and that I knew that the air filter was fine because I had just changed it. So he ends up telling me that because the vehicle has 60,000 miles he would recommend this check. I said fine but I don't really need the filters.
When the car was finished I went to pick it up. To my absolute disgust and fury after looking at the bill, the cost for the recommended check up was $541.63 . I never would have ok'd this service had I know the cost. Would have been helpful information when he was pushing it upon me.
The car has always ran well and I never would have OK'd this service knowing the cost. Let's see a thirty dollar oil, lube, and filter or a ridiculously expensive 60,000 mile check. It would have been good business to let the customer know that you are recommending a $541 service vs. a $30 service. From the way he made it sound, I thought this check might cost an extra 15-20 dollars. Awful business practice and they totally denied it at the time of vehicle pick-up.
