on 12/30/05 a credit inquiry was requested on both my wife and mine's credit reports. on 2/16/06 i noticed the illegal actvity. not knowing what it was i didnt take much notice until i pulled our credit reports again on 4/20/06.

decided to call the company who pulls the credit reports for freestand financial holdings. i was informed that the credit reports were pulled without social security numbers. where you are supposed to enter the social security numbers someone inserted all zeros. this is illegal.

at no given time had i had anyu previous buiness with freestand financial for any reason and when the credit reports were pulled i didnt even live in the state i decided to call freestand financial and get to the bottom of this. the employees name was laura shea.

i informed the vice president of the company of the problem and he told me he would have the inquiry removed and the emnployee laura shea would be fired, and that he himself would call me on the following monday to confirm that it was taken care of., monday came and went and i decided at the end of the day to take matters into my own hands, i called the company that pulls the credit reports for freestand and asked them to remove all the information.

since i never heard from the vp of freestand financial i decoed to write them a letter with my intent to sue. only then did i recieve a phone call from the vop asking me why. he never took the responsability to confirm that the damage to my credit report was remedied.

i told him i intended on sueing for violation of fcra rules under federal law, the next day i get a call from the president of the company asking me why would i want to sue, i stated that since the employee still worked for the company and i never recieved a response i am forced to take that avenue. they are letting a employee steal peoples id and are doing nothing about it. the company encourges illegal behavior and refuses to remedy the problem

AS I RESPOND TO THE REBUTTAL REGARDING THIS MATTER LET ME FIRST SAY IN NO WAY WAS LAURA SHEAS ACTIONS THE FAULT OF FREESTAND FINANCIAL HOLDINGS.IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO WATCH WHAT EVERY EMPLOYEE DOES 24/7. FREESTAND OFFERED A SETTLEMENT FOR THE DAMAGE THAT WAS CAUSED BY THERE EX- EMPLOYEE. BY LAW WE WERE ENTITLED TO PAYMENT AS PER FCRA RULES. FREESTAND FINANCIAL WAS 100% PROFESSIONAL IN HANDLING THE MATTER AND DID EVERTHING THERE THERE POWER TO MAKE SURE THAT LAURA SHEA WOULD NOT DO THIS TO ANYONE ELSE. I HOPE FREESTAND WILL UNDERSTAND THE ANGER THIS HAS CAUSED BUT AT THE SAME TIME THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE IN ANYWAY AS THEY WERE BEYONE PROFESSIONAL IN THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DEDICATION TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT THEY DID NOT CAUSE.

This is in response to the unauthorized credit pull by Freestand Financial employee Laura Shea. Laura had pulled this couples credit report without their permission. Freestand Financial takes these actions very seriously and when we were notified of this Laura Shea was immediately let go by the company. In addition, the couple whose credit report was pulled, received a monetary settlement from the company. Freestand Financial maintains a "zero-tolerance" policy and takes these matters very seriously.
