Frontline Consumer Research Group Sent me a letter with a fake check in the amount of $3,550.00. Trenton New Jersey
For the past two months I have been looking for a job and I was starting to get pretty desperate. And one day I get a letter in the mail with a check in the amount of $3,550.00. My first reaction was a big smile on my face and my first thought was that it felt like Christmas. But then I thought that this was too good to be true. Well, I called the number on the letter to verify and the woman told me to take it to deposit in my bank account, wait twenty-four hours then give them a call. Well, that's when I became leary about the whole thing. So, instead of going to my local bank I went to Ameripawn in Valparaiso, Indiana on Lincolnway and they had told me that the check was fake. So when I got home I had called the company from my home phone and briefly explained and inquired about the fake check, but the woman put me on hold and didn't return. So naturally, I called back and there was no answer. So I called from my cell. The same woman answered and I explained that I was the one that called earlier and she did the same thing to me. So it was evident to me that they have caller ID and they were avoiding my phone calls. So when my boyfriend came home in the evening I used his cell phone to call them back and of course, the same woman answered and I pretended to be a new cutomer (victim) interested in there letter and check. After she explained the same proceedure I rebuttled with this question..."Why won't you answer my question about this fake check you sent me in the mail?
Then she hung up on me and that is why I'm turning to you. I feel very disturbed and violated about this whole situation. So if someone could please get back to me that would be great. Thank you.
