Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Avoid this company like the plague.  They will take your money, waste your time, and not provide merchandise, then they will refuse to refund your money.

My story is similar to the ones listed below... ordered furniture; never received it; repeated phone calls, e-mails, and mailings (now seven months after purchase) have not resulted in merchandise being sent, or refunds being issued.

Research has revealed the "management" assumes multiple names to hide behind, and dozens of formal complaints from consumers and watch-dog groups.  Multiple agencies are already aware of their practices.

Please, like we did, file reports with PayPal, the Reidsville, NC Police, the FBI, the United States Postal Service's Postal Inspector, your credit card company, the FBI, and the NC State Attorney General.

This fraud and scamming must stop.  They need to be shut down.

Another Dissatisfied Customer

So Furniture Showcase is claiming that all the complaints on Ripoff Report are done by competing businesses?  Seriously!!??

Both Furniture Showcase locations in Raleigh in Reidsville have F Ratings with the Better Business Bureau.  You cannot file an anonymous claim with the BBB.

At least a dozen complaints have been filed against them with the NC State Attorney Generals Office.  You cannot file an anonymous claim with the Attorney General.

Raleigh's local news ran a "Five on Your Side" report about Furniture Showcase.  That dissatisfied customer appeared on tv.

Sorry, Vesterfelt, but I could drive a truck through the holes in your "evil competitor" theory.

Amercian Express credited our account back after we proved to them that Furniture Showcase is a sham.

The company spends more time filing rebuttals for the numerous compaints against them than they do taking care of their customers.  If you look, many of their rebuttals are exactly the same... false accusations that disgruntled employees are filing allegations.  BS.

Here's what you should do to get your money back:

We filed cases with the FBI (Internet Crime Complaint Center - IC3), State's DA office, PayPal, American Express, the United States Post Office Postal Inpsector's office, the Better Business Bureau, and the local (Reidsville) police department after getting the following string of e-mail excuses from Furniture Showcase:

"I have your cancellation request, once we have confirmation of cancellation from the manufacturer your paperwork will then go to refund processing, it normally takes 21-45 days to process a refund. If you would like to move this process along any faster you may contact your credit card company and open a dispute on the charge."

"We are having problems with the merchant services that we used to run the original transaction. Due to this we are asking that you file a dispute with your card to reverse the charges. They will then fax us the information that is needed to have the funds put back in your account. If you have any problems with this process; there has been a letter mailed to you with a form to fill out. This will allow us to get a check issued out for the refund. We do apologize for the extra steps and can assure you that this is not by our choice."

"Once you receive the form; please note the below reason and sign the form and send it back to us. Once we receive the form back it typically takes a week to have accounts payable issue the check."

"I have looked at all your paperwork and see that you sent the letter back to us with the following statement: "Your company failed to provide merchandise for our purchase, even after five months of us patiently waiting. Then, you closed the merchant account that would allow a direct refund to our card." This is not the case, nor is what the form was intended for. The form was intended to be used after the dispute was filed and in the case that it was denied. However from your statement there is no way for us to know that you had already filed. I apologize if you had some confusion on the process; however the bank and merchant service have told us to have the card holder file a dispute. We have taken an additional step to try and help you along; however we need to know the reasoning for issuance of a check. As to your demand for a time line on the issuance of the refund check; it is not a demand that can be meet. If you do not want to cooperate with the procedures setup; I do not understand how we are supposed to meet your demands. Further more; I have noticed your post online which only adds further confusion to what we are to do: "Gavin H.'s Review of: Furniture Showcase Furniture Showcase has abysmally poor business practices (rating 1 out of 5) I have filed a complaint with the FTC AND the BBB of North Carolina against Furniture Showcase. From reading the reviews below, it seems as though their method of operation is delay, postpone, delay, and then put it off longer... AFTER they have your money! In June 2009, we purchased a dresser for almost $1,000. We still have not received it. About two months ago, we requested a refund, and we have been given the proverbial run-around. We still do not have our refund and I plan to take them to small claims court." From what I can ascertain we are to wait to hear from your lawyer? Thanks and let me know if I can help with anything else Aaron Vesterfelt"

"Aaron, I will be back Monday. The customer said they have already filed all of the things mentioned below. Do not do anything else via phone for the customer has put this information in writing. No other contact until I return. Michael Whetzel"

This company has no integrity and should be shut down.

Fabrication

#5UPDATE Employee

Thu, January 07, 2010

This appears to be fabricated by a jealous competitor, ex-employee or unhappy customer. When a competitor goes online and poses as a customer expressing false dissatisfaction, that is defamation and product disparagement, as well as false advertising and violation of the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act. The problem with this website is anyone with an email address that can type a few words can ruin a businesses reputation, simply by making up a negative lie. The fact is most of the complaints on small businesses found on complaint websites are false, fake, frivolous, and unverified entries. Furniture Showcase's reputation is one of their company's most important assets. Customer's are aware that the delivery estimate is 5 to 12 weeks for delivery of furniture, as the furniture must ship from the manufacturer (usually 3-4 weeks) and then arranged for shipment via in-home delivery specialist to the customer's home. It takes time to receive furniture, as it can not be UPS or FEDEX. Most all furniture stores operate the same, unless the furniture item is on their showroom floor.  The customer service and sales staff work easily with customers, but will NOT be abused by customers - and customer's should understand that it is not necessary to abuse employees. Ripoffreport.com is a favorite place for unethical competitors to haunt. Its almost like these sites were designed to allow false complaints (though most are probably legitimate) because they are uncontrolled. The website allows anyone to say anything they want in the form of a complaint about anyone. The problem with this website is that they do not verify the identity of the person who files the complaint. Furthermore, the website does not verify that the complaints are valid at all. This website attracts ex-employees, competition and unhappy customers that file fictitious, frivolous, and false complaints against innocent businesses.
