I signed up to do shops at McDonalds for this company and was to be paid within 24 hours of completing the shop. I selected two stores within a 10 mile radius from my home. I did the first one on the morning of Friday August 6 and immediately faxed in my reports. I followed up because I had ordered one item that was not on their list and wanted to sure it was ok. I was told that it was and not to be concerned.

On Monday I was called to be advised that I had missed one question. I said I had not and knew that I had in fact answered the question. I was told that it would not be a problem and that my payment would be processed immediately via Paypal. I went to paypal to be certain everything was in order. It was but I did not receive my payment. I made three more calls to inquire about it and each time reached someone in Australia!! Now I was told that there was some glich but that it had been fixed and the payment would be forthcoming. I informed the people that I did not want to do the next one if I was not going to be paid. I simply did not want to do this for my health. "No Problem" I was told it would be taken care of.

The next day it was the same. Still no payment.

On Tuesday I decided enough was enough and quit. I told them to get someone else to do my shop on Friday the 13th!! A day that was bound to be a problem. I removed myself from their data base and all. I was told by their executive director that my payment would be forth coming and not to worry. Today is Wednesday and my payment still has not been made. I caution all would be shoppers to be aware of this practice. I have done shops many times before and have never run into this type of thing. It is not a lot of money but just the principal of the whole thing. Don't promise things that you are not going to deliver.

While some of what James says is correct some is not. I have reread the invitation to work for this company and it still says compensation remitted within twenty four hours! It took over a month to get my payment completed and then I had to negotiate it down to get it completed! James please speak the truth. What you are saying in total is not correct.

I represent GAPbuster Worldwide and would like to explain the reality behind this situation. To begin with there a couple of points that require clarification: 1. Payments are not made within 24 hours. It is not possible. Whilst our payment process is the fastest in the industry, we need time to process all results reported to us. Furthermore, it takes a number of days for payment to be processed by our payment agent PayPal. Our claim is that daily payment processing allows payment to be made within a number of days. Please visit our application page to check this claim www.gapbuster.com/xec GAPbuster Worldwide sets the standard for speed of payment in our industry. If we receive quality results a shopper can be paid within 4 days. In a worst-case scenario it may take 7-10 days. Compare this to the industry standard of 4-6 weeks. Indeed, our shoppers find our prompt payment a great benefit of working with GAPbuster Worldwide I think they are the greatest and fastest on payment to boot. This quote has been taken from a mystery shopping forum on www.volition.com - a major mystery shopping resource. 2. Mike's payment calculations were incorrect. He believed that he was entitled to receive a greater sum than was actually due. The total of Mike's payment was $27.50 rather than $45.15. This was addressed with Mike personally over the phone on two separate occasions. In the end, a small additional payment was made to Mike to compensate for the misunderstanding. 3. Admittedly, there was a delay in forwarding the second payment of $10 to Mike. GAPbuster Worldwide converted to the PayPal payment system in August, and some teething issues were experienced. Nevertheless, all shoppers that completed their work were paid for their efforts. Allow me to reassure you that GAPbuster Worldwide is NOT a rip off. We work with some of the largest brands in the world including McDonalds, Shell, Texaco, Virgin, Blockbuster and many more! Our global operations extend into over 30 countries. We invite anyone who doubts our credibility to visit our web site to demonstrate our level of professionalism www.gapbuster.com Please also note on a separate issue that a site registered as gapbusters.com is in no way related or associated with GAPbuster Worldwide.

8/5/04 I did the shops and did not receive all the monies due. I was to receive the following: 1st time bonus $10.00 Shop fee 17.50 expenses reimbursement 7.65 total 45.15 Monies received to date: 11.00 plus 6.50 total 17.50!! I have sent two follow up emails to the people in charge and have not received even an answer. It seems like they just do not want to talk to me. However the monies are due and I would like to be paid. This type of rip off is just wrong. Please go after them and make them do what is right.

AFter failing to make payments within 24 hours via PayPal.com as promised I did receive two payments of lesser amounts within about a week. Out of the $34.15 owed I have received 17.50!! This is not at all as promised and is a Rip Off in my opinion. I am now being told that some of the payments has to come from other people!! Why wasn't this disclosed to start with?
