In April of 2008, the owners of  my former employer Garcia & Company, AKA, Global Transport Logistics, AKA GTL, located in Plainfield, Indiana asked me and my husband to loan  some money to the company for cash flow purposes.

The owners, Colin Garcia and Patrick Garcia of Indianapolis, and Mooresville, Indiana prospectively, stated that the money would be paid back as soon as they were able to renegotiate the contract with one of his largest customers, Foxconn which was due to be finalized within 3-4 weeks.

Colin also promised that me and my husband who both worked with him and who were responsible for bringing in new customers and growing the business from approx. $750,000 in revenue to $2.5mm within two years would always be taken care of and that we were partners in the business even though it wasn't documented legally.  He also made claims about it being a good investment in our future and that the cash flow issue was only temporary and caused by unforeseen events with which he had nothing to do.

My husband and I cashed in my 401k from my former employer and gave the money to them as they had asked.  Patrick Garcia took the check from me and cashed it that day.  I kept asking them both for the promissory note that they said they created and they kept coming up with excuses about why they couldn't get it to me.

In August of 2008, Patrick Garcia fired my husband for no cause and stated that "he couldn't afford him anymore".  I was present during the event and asked then for the promissory note.  Patrick stated he couldn't give it to me, but Colin Garcia stated that he would get it to me and assured me there was no ill will with respect to repayment.

In October of 2008, when I was on fall break with my daughters, Colin said he would meet me downtown at Nordstroms to give me my check.  I met him there while shopping with my two young girls, and he told me that he had been kicked out of the building where we had the warehouse operation, that he had lost his two largest clients, and that he was having to let everyone go except for a skeleton staff to transition the business to another building at which time he and his father, Patrick Garcia would be running the business by themselves.

Patrick and Colin Garcia gave me a promissory note outlining repayment of approximately $5500.00 per month to begin in October 2008 until full repayment was made.  They paid me $1000.00 in October, November, December and January and than had an attorney call me to let me know they were not going to be able to make payment for February, March, and April, and that they didn't know when they would be able to make payment.  I have made numerous attempts to speak with Colin and Patrick Garcia about repayment  - no reply.

I contacted an attorney who told me my best shot was to hire a debt collector to try and get my money back.  After months of hiding from me and my husband, Colin Garcia resurfaced when he once again failed to make lease payments and was kicked out of his warehousing operation in Plainfield, Indiana.  My current company was phoned in soliciting the space that would be coming available.  I discovered that Colin Garcia had sold Garcia & Company to a new logistics company in Greenwood, Indiana.  I am currently trying to pursue them for repayment of the debt owed to me and my family by the two criminals, Patrick and Colin Garcia.

Beware- anyone who comes in contact with these people.  Do not believe a word they say.  My husband and I discovered during the investigation, that we were lied to from the beginning by both Patrick and Colin Garcia about money and finances, gambling debt, and tax investigations by the State of Indiana.

These two criminals are very deceptive and on the surface seem to be normal "nice guys".  Nothing could be further from the truth.  They have done similar things to their closest friends and others who have done work for them with a promise for payment which has never been received.
