Gardners Choice ripoff my 87 year old father who was widowed after 57 years of marriage 10-13-01 Hartford Michigan
My mother died on october 13, 2001 leaving my father, 87 years old alone after 57 years of marriage. He had suffered a stroke in March 2001. My father resides at an alternative care home.
Since mother always took care of the gift giving, dad saw in a magazine Gardner's Choice tree's - that grow fast, a beautiful lilac color, and had me order 3 of them for my sister for Mother's Day. This was done on March 1, 2002 for 3 trees totally $14.47. He wanted to surprise her with these trees which were to be a memorial for my mother. Needless to say, NO trees were ever sent. However, his check was cashed!!!
My sister received a postcard on May 20th stating that her trees would be shipped. She's tried the phone, can't get thru, website is not open, no response at all and my father has one more thing to break his heart! I see in the Rip Off Report that Sgt.Sam DeLeo from the Hartford Sherriff's Office (616-657-3101) is contacting the nursery which has been in business for 20 years. I found this hopeful. I don't want dead trees to be shipped like some of the above customers have received. I'd like a refund only! I am writing and sending the backup paperwork to Sgt. DeLeo so he can assist my father. Whatever happened to HONESTY, BEING KIND TO ONE ANOTHER..TRUSTING??
