We were told that if we bought 4 GE Appliances from Home Depot within a give time frame, we would receive a $400 rebate.  We met the requirements of the rebate program and submitted a claim timely.  Got the welcome email, were promised forthcoming emails, but no other emails ever came. 

We went on-line to check the status of the claim and always saw "In Process; Your Claim is Awaiting Review by one our specialists", with no details or messages as to what was being evaluated.  The last time we checked the status it said "DECLINED" with no explanation. 

There was no where I could find on the website how to contact anyone.  So, I went back to the welcome email to ask why.  I received a prompt response that the Serial Number on two of the items was invalid and their system sent out an automatic email on the matter, and if I didn't get the email, it must have gone to SPAM.  Meanwhile, the deadline of the program was over, so nothing could be done to re-open the claim.  Why would the reply email and welcome email come through easily and any other supposedly sent emails go to SPAM?  Why would the Serial Numbers be invalid when they are the actual SN's on the purchased units? 

The models of purchased units and all requirements of the program were met.  There were no messages on the website to tell us there was any problem.  And the fact that there is no recourse to appeal a claim is wrong.  They were wrong to deny the rebate.  They did not communicate sufficiently to say there was a problem.  They entice you to buy with a promise of a rebate and ensure you don't get one.
