   My six year old refrigerator went on the blink, so I called the GE Consumer Home Services. The service man actually showed up a little early in the service window, so that is a plus, but it goes downhill from there.

   As soon as he started I began to have some second thoughts. I would expect the service personel to be familiar with the GE models, but he could not find out where to plug his computer into the unit. His work was interrupted because he got a phone call and had to explain to someone about how another service call was not successful. He shotgunned the main control unit took our $308 and left. To his credit, he did tell us that we should not put food in the unit for about five hours after we verify that the unit is working. That did save us from further food spoilage.

   The unit was not repaired. Here we are living out of an ice chest, and GE would help us in a timely manner. I had to pull teeth to get someone out here the same week.

   They sent the same repairman who shotgunned another part, and still did not fix the unit. I have the refrigerator at full blast, ant it cools a couple of water bottles to 60 degrees, and there is no hope that they will fix it. Of course, not fixing it does not bother them from taking my money. I have repeatedly tried to talk to the manager, and they have hung up on me three times. I do not feel thay they have any desire/ability to fix the unit, just take my money.
