I can understand is SHE called YOU, but YOU called HER! They obviously suspect some kind of fraud, and thus need proof you are who you say you are. How would you like it if there WAS fraudulent activity on the card, and they did nothing to prevent it? Also, I have a hard time believing you were disconnected/hung up on as much as you say.
More importantly, why don't you get a REAL bank account like a normal person? I mean, looking at the "moneycard" fees, you are ripping YOURSELF off!
Let's compare, for example, the fees you pay vs what my online bank pays (Ally):
Walmart:
Monthly service charge: $3, unless you "deposit" $1,000 in the previous month
Depositing money (besides DD or Walmart checking): $3
Using an ATM: $2 (!!!)
My bank:
NO Monthly Service Charge
NO ATM fees - in fact, they REFUND you the fees you pay to the ATM itself!
NO fee to deposit money (who the heck does that)?
Plus you get auto bill pay, great 24 hr customer service, etc. Even if you went with a local bank and not an online one, you would be MUCH better off.
I mean, why anyone who is over 14 would not have a bank account is beyond me.
