   Geek Squad put me on hold for 53 minutes and 14 seconds, on the eveninng of 13 October 2009.  I called the geek squad to see if I needed an appointment to bring my lap top.  The gentlemen whom I talk to put me on hold.  After 44 minutes and 5 seconds of waiting.

   I call geek squad on my cell phone, I was able to talk to someone and I requested to speak to his manager (while I am still waiting on my home phone).  He put the phone down, and inform the manager, that I wanted to talk to her.  I over heard her ask why do I want to talk to her.  When he told her because I was waiting for over 44 minutes she told him to put me on hold for another 44 minutes.  He did put me on hold without saying anything.  I waited for a total of 53 minutes and 14 seconds.

   I hung up and called Best Buy store manager.  I told him what happen.  He said he will talk to the geek squad manager.  As of now I have not gotten a courtisey phone call on the out come of his meeting.  All I want is an apolozy no more no less.

  I end up using (((competitor's name redacted))).  I was not put on hold for more then 2 minutes and was treated like my bussiness makes a differrent.  (((redacted))) service is plus 10 of 10.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report. In this case we removed an alleged competitors name

I'm sorry, but I fail to see how you were "ripped off."  You didn't pay for a service that wasn't performed to your satisfaction; you weren't sold a faulty product.   You were merely VERY mildly inconvenienced.  If you have never paid a visit to the tech bench, you should know that it can get rather hectic there.  Unfortunately, phone calls can get ignored when there are customers waiting in line for service.  I'm sorry you were lost in the shuffle, but that is life, and things don't always happen the way that we want.

Being an Agent, this sounds a little strange to me... I can tell you:

A.) Any Geek Squad employee would know you don't need an appointment to bring your unit in, and would have no reason to put you on hold to inform you of this simple fact;
B.) If you sat on hold for upwards of an hour over such a simple question, that's your issue. Any reasonable person would have hung up long before that and tried calling back a few minutes later;
C.) If you called in a second time and got somebody immediately, instead of asking for a manager first, why not just explain you were left on hold and re-ask your question (after only waiting for a few minutes on hold and then calling back, as suggested in B...);
D.) If this really played out exactly how you explained, you should probably call 1-888-BEST BUY and talk to Customer Relations, but I doubt it did.

Best Buy and Geek Squad do not stay in business because they treat their customers like garbage. Additionally, some customers are simply unreasonable.
