Hi Pam, I agree with Chad that it would help if we had a bit of information concerning the extent of the damage. Was the fram bent and required straightening? Did they use Ford part to fix the car? Children who are traumatized by an accident are probably not reacting to the quality of the repair but the memory of the accident happening in that particular car. Depending on their age, they may still believe that they influence or somehow cause an accident, in this case because they were in that car. As I am sure you are already doing, hug your child and let them know that things like this happen and it doesn't have anything to do with them or the car. God knows, I understand the feelings of ownership and pride of having a new car... then to have it ruined by the carelessness of someone. It hurts. I used to live in California where I would shake my head because so many times when someone got hit they thought that it was the Lotto. You want to check rates for driving there! The car may be new, but how can new be defined? Less than 6 months? Less than 12 months? Less than 12,000 miles? If the insurance is to replace a new car instead of repairing should they deduct a percentage based on the months or the miles the car was already used? If the insurance company can return the car to the same appearance and operatinal level that the car was at the time of the accident then can any more really be asked? Now, with that being said, Chad... I have, at least once a year, used Geico's website as well as Progressive's and each time I either call an agent or compare what I have already through my independant agent. Never have they come close to matching what I am paying. Everyone should use an independant agent as an additional source for quotes while shopping. If you are associated in anyway with the company maybe you could address the numerous calls to the company before getting ahold of the rep? Yes, they may be busy, but for the person making the claim that is not their primary concern. Ms. Perkins should have been much more proactive... it isn't business as normal to a person that is waiting to hear from an insurance company concerning their car. Thanks,
Chad

....GEICO does not have a local office in Lebanon, MO...GEICO has few local offices. Much lik progressive they attempt to save their customers $$$ on insurance by cutting out the middle man (agent). DO you really think they sould give you a new car? How much damage was done to your car? What about the damage made you car unsafe?
