General Growth Marketing & Research Logistics: MARKET RESEARCH & LOGISTICS Selected for "SECRET SHOPPER POSITION" mailing, with CHECK INCLOSED!' Willowdale Ontario
I recieved a letter in the mail stating that I had been chosen to become a "SECRET SHOPPER". Along with the letter was a "Customer Service Evaluation Tool Form", and a CHECK for $2,670.00. This letter came in a plain envelope, with no return address and a postage stamp from Canada.
(*SUSPICIOUS*)
The letter stated that had been RANDOMLY selected for a TRIAL as a representative in my region as a secret shopper. Besides there being misspelled words and changing explainations, the letter named legitimate business such as, Wester Union, Wal-Mart, and JC Pennys. And included logos from other legitimate businesses as well. (Pizza Hut, Gap, McDonalds, Budget Rental Car, Blockbuster, MoneyGram, Sears, and Starbucks) It gave instructions of where I was supposed to go shopping, how much to spend at each place, which included going to Western Union and making a money transfer, "to another secret shopper".
There were also instructions explaining that in order for me to complete my training, I was to fill out the form included in the envelope, fax it to their office. And to call +1-416-897-0820 and ask for Daniel.. BEFORE... cashing the check.

My Research:
I went through the letter and check up on all the information it provided me with. Starting with the name of the company on the letter.
*-General Growth : Market Research & Logistics
The name of the company exists in several different forms but none including general growth.
The address provided on the letter head is actually that of Skymark Place Shopping center, which includes a Podiatry clinic, and a Pizza Hut, among other things. No Market Research & Logistics business anywhere in the vicinity.
I also check on the phone numbers provided in the letter.
The first number provided 1-253-270-6871, turned out to be a land line located in Kent, Washington. No where near Ontario Canada.
The second number, 1-905-598-4281, which was a cell phone, turned out to be located in Brampton, Ontario.
And the last number was that of "Daniel". 1-416-897-0820. Which was also a cell phone, but was from Toronto, Ontario.
The evaluation for included the first number as the location to fax the reciept and the form to a "Mr. Michael Evans"
HERE IS THE PROOF THAT ITS A SCAM>>>>>>>
Finally I looked at the check that came with the letter.
First noticing that the company wasn't the same as that on the letter head and also not even from the same country. It is located in Richmond, Indiana.
The check was from a company that is an actual legitimate company. The one these people are trying to stealing from.
Cinram is the world's largest provider of pre-recorded optical discs and related logistics services for leading motion picture studios, music labels, publishers and computer software companies.
They make dvds, cds, cdroms, and other things of that nature.
For movie companies and music companies...etc.
So once added up... there is no doubt in my mind that this is a scam. And now you know too...
