Thank you for your response. My issue was mainly with the Insurance Agency. But since they represent Germania Insurance, it is with that company as well. I realize it is hard to believe such callousness, but that is what really happened, that is what they really said. Not only did I hear those words, but felt the attitude behind them. There was no mistaking what they were saying to me. Also, at first, they did give me a quote for the year, which was $683 But the issue was, that once they were in possession of the declarations page of the insurance I had at that time, which they said they had to have in order to give me a quote, they changed to that outrageous amount based on what THEY THOUGHT I WAS PAYING for 6 months. Germania Insurance tolerates such abusive behavior by letting them stay in business representing them. That is why I name them both in my complaint. I have now come to realize that the whole insurance industry is the same in their Rip-off practices! We have to carry insurance because it is the law but we can't use it or they cancel us. That is why now I go with the cheapest quote I can get.

I do not work for David House Insurance Agency, but do represent Germania at a different Agency. For several years now (since the year 1999 I believe, its the weekend and I'm at home so I can't pull up the exact year from here) Germania has offered only 1-year term automobile insurance policies. I would suggest that if you are dissatisfied with the service you received from agent who was trying to quote you, that you look up another agent in your area. Germania's website has a list of Texas agents by county. The company's website address is http://www.germania-ins.com/. Their automobile & home insurance rates are usually very competitive. Our particular agency is located in deep East Texas has represented Germania since 1981. I can personally vouch that they are a very reliable and steadfast company, and have been rated A or better by A.M. Best continuously. There are times when an agent, who does happen to be a human too, makes a mistake, but I believe in owning up to the mistake and explaining what the mistake was. In example, if it had been me talking to you, I would have said, Mrs. X, I'm sorry, I forgot to add full coverage to the car, or I forgot to add the accident we dicussed, etc. Regardless, Germania is a very good company and hope you give them a second chance.
