I can''t comment on the content of the seminar, as we never made it in !!!
I understand the concept of a free or low cost seminar and would have been OK with political views and sales pitches. What I am upset about is the total disorganization. They completely oversold the recent seminar in Austin, TX. Even though I was one of the first to sign up, they called me and said that because they had oversold the convention center would we be willing to go to a satellite location. This location was much further away and of course we had wanted to see the speakers "live". To compensate us for this inconvenience, we were promised free parking, free lunch and that they would attempt to get the speakers to come over to our location for a personal meet and greet. Since I was taking my elderly bookkeeper, I agreed as I knew this would be easier for her.
We arrived 50 minute early, to the satellite location, after snarling our way through traffic. At that point, there was NO parking left (and there were hundreds of cars behind me). So we finally parked illegally and went in only to discover there was NO place left to sit. The final straw was no coffee left ;o).
Obviously my bookkeeper could not stand all day or sit on the floor and I doubt that there would have been any or enough lunch, so we left. All around a wasted day for myself and my staff.
My husband works for the airlines, so I also totally understand the concept of overbooking for no shows, but this was completely overboard. When I called their office to express my frustration, I was told I could only email my complaint and I never received a response. Again, not very good customer service. This was originally my husband''s ideal and he was greatly saddened that some of his "heroes" would be associated with such a inconsiderate firm.
