This all started with an email offering a free Dell computer for people interested in doing computer and product testing surveys. This did not seem altogether unusual until while attempting to qualify for this offer I was led through a 2 hour long maze of surveys and membership offerings from everything ranging from cell phones, Blockbuster, Ebay, Online Degree programs and some othe spam like weight loss and new baby product if I knew any expecting parents the wanted referrals, meanwhile the free dell valued at up to $799 was still a dangling carrot, was I let off the hook after a few surveys well the answer is not by a long shot, Instead I was put through 3 consecutive LAST STEP web pages requiring me to give personal information including a valid credit card to sign up for memberhips to at least 2 of the business choices they had listed on that page and keep in mind after the first 2 when you went to the next page you have to do 2 more and the next page another 2 requiring 6 in all. I ended up a member of ebay and a NY Times subscription for sunday sevice, an online computer class at arizona and some other place and a blockbuster subscription and a book of the month club. If this was just a tease then I got off lucky however if these people are criminally getting my credit card birth date address credit card unique cid # and probable passwords all because it was transmitted through their website then I will be in fear and continually checking my Bank balance and credit report probably for years to come. Very important note: they have absolutely no conspicuously posted contact iformation and when I attempted to reply to the email all I got was an undeliverable message of my server making 3 hours of unsuccessful attempts to deliver. I will personally make a project out of locating them and physiclly teaching them a thing or two about who they messed with however in the meanwhile until I get to them whoever reads this will be advised to be careful and don't get caught up.
