I purchased two packages of Gevalia Kaffee's overpriced coffees under the ruse that I would also receive a FREE Coffee Maker & two mugs for trying their products. The promise of these free items was the only reason I purchased their coffees rather than from my local WalMart.

They charge double for their gourmet coffees over supermarket prices - what a ripoff! More importantly, the free coffee maker they send me as an enticement to buy their coffee stopped working in less than two weeks! It's a piece of junk!!!

I have written to them four times regarding this matter. At first, I was willing to settle the matter by returning the broken coffee maker (at their expense) if they would send me another coffee maker. They ignored my correspondence.

In my last two communiques I have demanded a FULL REFUND of my purchase price. Once again, they have ignored my correspondence.

They are enticing people to try their products by offering free coffee makers that they know are pieces of junk. This is a consumer ripoff!!!

Several weeks ago I received a full refund of my membership fee and a new "free" coffee maker from Gevalia. I now consider this matter satisfactorily closed, and thank this website for the opportunity to list my complaint. One last note: the new "free" coffee maker is rather interesting - sometimes, it makes a full mug of coffee (as requested), sometimes I get 1/2 a mug or 3/4 a mug. I never know how much coffee I'm going to end up with! Interesting little coffee maker - it definitely has a mind of its own.

You got what you paid for. A "free" coffee maker, that died after two weeks. It is a ripoff though.

I am sorry that you have had such bad luck with Gevalia. I would like to say that I received a coffee maker about 15 months ago from them, along with their flavored coffees and the maker still works very well. I love their coffee and it is a better quality that what I have found at Wal Mart or my local grocery store. Good Luck
