Just google giltner, and you will find many simular complaints, especially at thetruckersreport.com.
Giltner is definitely connected to CR England, thats why their equiptment is the same and they run the same lease purchase scam as england. Giltners driver pay is actually going down, not up. They with held $1850.00 from my pay when I quit and now put on my DAC that I owe giltner money for bogus stuff they never mentioned for years until I quit. Then they went back years to dig up old driver reimbursements and giltner now claims were driver advances! Think about it; why in the world would giltner make you cut a TCH check as a company driver for lumpers, etc?
All those giltner expenses could easily be paid to the lumper service directly. Instead they force the company driver to have TCH checks issued and instantly deduct that from driver pay which should be issued by giltner to the lumper service directly. Then giltner went back when I quit years later and deducted those lumper expenses as "driver advances." When you protest, giltner demands original lumper receipts that you sent years ago and deducts them from your final pay.
Giltner / Progressive logistics out of Jerome ID are liars and thieves. With 19 years of experience, I know a company going out of business when I see one. They will do anything to NOT pay you, have you work for free, and shave miles. They also do zero preventive maintenance unless the truck breaks down, and then they blame you for the breakdown. They have pulled out the apu's and installed bunk heaters which may or may not work. And no, they are no more interested in fixing bunk heaters then any other parts of the truck. Since you cant idle, you had better be familiar with surving in sub zero temps in the winter. So if you want to run for free in dangerous junk equiptment with no respect at all, go with Giltner.

First off, I was a driver for 10 years, and NO roadside mechanic will replace a transmission on the side of the road. It would be towed to a shop, and possibly wait days for a new one. You are just a hard up piece of scum who went to TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL, which we didn't have back in the day of real truck drivers, and you couldn't hack it, and probably they got tired of you sluffing off in every pickle park and truck stop lounge in the nation. Go back to making meth, you never belonged behind the wheel of anything to start with inbred!

I used to work for Giltner for 5 years. This is a solid company that treats their employess very good. This is if the employee DOES THEIR JOB. In five years I was never asked to run illegally there.
As far as equipment goes, theirs was excellent. They were not the best company I ever worked for, but their pay was the best. I miss the money!
One last thing. In 5 years I made my fair share of mistakes. And never once did they compalin about those mistakes. I have never seen anything like this from another trucking company in 24 years of trucking. That ought to be worth something.

I work for Giltner Trucking, but it is not the same company that is mentioned. The report should've listed Giltner, Inc/Progressive Logistics which is an entirely different company then ours. Giltner Trucking is a local trucking company hauling bulk milk within a 50 mile radius of Jerome ID. I understand that there may be some confusion because we are both in the same town with similar names, but I would like the record corrected so that this report does not shine a "bad light" on our company.
