I recently had a horrible expierence with Global Automotive. Our fuel pump went out on our 1998 Chevy Silverado 4X4 Pick up. Anyone that knows Mechanics knows that probably the best way is to pull the pick up bed off to get to the gas tank. We were in quiet a hurry because i have a disabled son. I had to get to Laramie, Wyoming to the Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN. They represented this pump as being an AC Delco fuel pump. When i installed the fuel pump and put my bed back on the fuel pump ran for about an hour. I came to find out that it was leaking out the bottom of the top diaphram. So I had to pull the bed back off again. I took it to Cheverolet and they thought it was a knock off of an AC Delco. They've never heard of one selling for 165 dollars. Usually they sell between $350 and $400. So after numberous conversation with Global Automotive and countless hours on hold. They told me to send the faulty pump back to them and return a NEW one to me. I paid $45 dollars to FED EX. It was signed for the day after Martin Luther Kings Birthday.

I just recieved a pump on 1/26/2012. When the box came into the gas it smelled so bad of gas it smelled so bad of gas i had to go outside and open it. The pump still had gas in it and it appeared to me that it was a repair that Global Automotive initiated.  It was the same pump i had returned i could tell this because of the marks on the lower half of the pump. The fuel sock was dirty and scratched up. It was not sent back in a AC Delco box. I did get the pump installed after taking the bed off for the 4th time! and to my suprise it is running. For how long I don't know but it's only been in there since yesterday. I had about 2 gallons in the gas tank and my gauge reads half a tank. If anybody knows what is involved in taking off the fuel lines on an electric fuel pump it requires a disconnect tool. There are no disconnect tools that will work with this fuel pump. Chevy says to just break off the fitting and then use a disconnect tool.

I've been lied to by Global. If anything sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I've never in my life had a company treat me as badly as they did. They didn't even give me a tracking number for when the package would arrive. Somebody needs to put a stop of knock off parts... I have reported this to EBAY and Pay Pal.

Thanks for listening,
your fellow mechanic, Mark
