Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I went to work at this company in November of 2013 and was suprised that this company was not disabled friendly and thought when the ADA was passed that companies had to be disabled friendly. This company was 100% not disabled friendly. They are in a buisiness park that was built in 1961 and thought that companies today had to comply when someone cannot get in to the building without the building being disabled friendly. I thought the entire point of the ADA was to protect the disabled. I called the state of Oregon to report these guys and found out there is a grandfather clause that says that many companies do not have to comply with the ADA if the building was built before the early 1990's when the ADA was passed. Also this company sucks because they want you to know in 6 hours of training three seperate hard computer programs that takes days or many hours to learn that were very difficult. I am disabled from a car wreck in 2006 and also am mentally slow and cannot learn all this technology especially in 6 hours of training in one day. They did not even care if I learned it or not. They just wanted thousands of people to get in and out of training and not even care if you learned it or not. It is not my falt the car accident happened but am suprized that so many companies are getting around the ADA. The lady at the state of Oregon where I told them about Global Contact Solutions discriminating against disabled people told me she knew of at least 25 buildings in the Portland Oregon area that were doing this and discriminating against the disabled and not helping them get into their offices in any way. I asked her what was being done about it and she said nothing could be done. I said you know yes something can be done and I told her I would tell them to stick it and that I was not going to work for them with this kind of attitude like I woke up and caused my own disability. That is the way that I felt those 6 hours that I was at Global Contact Solutions. I just want people to understand to never ever ever ever ever never ever never ever ever never ever work for a company that 1000% discriminates against the disabled. I will continue to be on welfare as long as this is happening and their tax dollars are going to continue to pay for me to sit on my butt. As long as things do not work right and companies treat people like dirt, more and more and more and more and more will be on welfare all the time. Now 50% of the public in Portland are on welfare because of this kinda crap. I hate your GUTS Global Contact Solutions. I hope you get fined for your actions. You should never be able to get around ADA or give me a crummy training program and get me to know technology in hours rather than days. That is just not right. I hope that someone investigates you for discriminating against me and blaming me for my disability.

I did not work there in September of 2013. I was not in a wheelchair. I was in a walker. I worked there from 11/15/2013 to 11/18/2013 and the training class was only 3 days of 4 hour training each day. I am mentally disabled and slow and the computer programs were hard and you were expected to learn them quickly without much traing at all and that is wrong. The training was crummy and very fast and that is wrong also. I am independent and should not have to depend on people to carry my walker up and down stairs. I was never given the opportunity to work downstairs and told I had to work upstairs. You are thinking I am someone else. The ADA was passed for a reason to protect the disabled. I could not believe there are so many companies here in the Portland area that are getting around the ADA according to the Civil Rights Division of The State of Oregon. The state told me there were over 30 companies here just in Portland that were moving into these old buildings to save on the rent and that is what Global was doing I think. How can anyone carry a walker up and down 10 stairs day after day after day just because Global did not want to help the disabled. I hate this company and cannot believe there are so many companies getting around the ADA. There is an attorney in Lak Oswego Oregon that represents the disabled and he works in a building that is not ADA friendly at all which is weird and there is no elevator. He has to meet them at the Starbucks across the street which is wrong. That goes to show you they want to get around the ADA and feel we are causing my disabilities and that is wrong. I was in a wreck and that is that and should not be blamed for this happening to me. This other lady you would not accomodate either it sounds like for sure in this story and rebuttle you wrote.

Hillary, its really unfortunate that you use such strong words towards the people that literally carried your wheel chair, and bent over backwards to give you a suitable work envoronment.  We did everyting we physically could to accomidate your situation.  We work in an older building.  This provides challenges that we must overcome.  We gave you the opportunuty to work downstairs.  We made as many accomidations for you as we could.  We did not discriminate.  We did not blame anyone.  We spent our time and effort to give you an opportunity to be successful.

We are also offended that you feel that you were not given ample time to lean our computer programs.  Nothing we ask you to learn is overly complicated.  But we understand that it takes some people more time to learn than others.  That is why you are given 5 days if paid training.  Also, you worked with us from 9/19 to 11/1/13.  There was ample time for you to learn our systems.  And we did not fire you.  You decided on your own to stop coming to work.  We invested many hours to give you the attention that you requested so you can learn our programs.  We give everyone an opportunity to succeed.  We cannot guarantee success but the success of our employees fuels the growth of GCS.  Without successful employees there is no company.

Its really unfortunate that your still possess so much hate toward our company.  We want nothing but the best for you.  We do not discriminate against anyone.  If we did, you would not have even been hired.  We did not blame anyone for your disability.  In fact, we used you as a shining example of how to not let life get in the way of your goals.  Our doors are always open and if you want to come back and give it another try, you are more than welcome come back and try again anytime you want.
