I worked for Universal and let me tell you the reason I quit: I was tired of trying to collect unsubstantiated and completely absurd debts! Most of the accounts that they collect on, they have bought for pennies! Most of them are from rip off companies that charge for services they never render. Keep on your attorney general about this! After hearing the many stories of customers that never received their services, the businesses had closed, they took money from bank accounts without authorization, etc. I had had enough! And we were told to tell customers to shut up and pay up! You can also file a complaint at ftc.gov if you get no help with the attorney general. Conduct all of your dealings with them IN WRITING, keep copies of everything you receive, write down names of people who contact you, dates, times, etc. that way you will have your stance backed up! Good luck to you on this--I truly feel for you! Even the employees at Universal joke about these rip off places like Global Escapes. You might also search "stores online", and "Universal Guardian Acceptance, aka Universal Data" and check out the other complaints!
